FIGHT!

Remember the good ol’ days, when you could wander along to the local arcade, hang out, play some fighting games, have your money stolen and go home sobbing? Amazing days, now sadly gone forever. Fortunately, something else is now amazing – Capcom’s imminent UK fight club tour!

Over the next 12 months Capcom will visit cities all around the UK giving gamers nationwide the chance to play the very best fighting games that Capcom has to offer, as well as games that aren’t even out yet. In other words, games FROM THE FUTURE. Leading the attempt to break the rules of physics will be Street Fighter X Tekken’s UK debut, and also possibly some other secret things that can’t possibly be confirmed yet. There’ll be DJs playing whatever passes for music these days, food and alcoholic drink. What’s more, all of this will be completely free. Free!

Here are some bullet points to help you report this in an easy and lazy manner:

Free games

Free food

Free drink

Free Willy

*No actual Free Willy

The tour kicks off in London on Saturday August 20th at the KO gym in east London, with legendary Street Fighter producer Yoshinori Ono on hand to sign your Street Fighter paraphernalia and lay down the law in matches of Street Fighter X Tekken. Doors open at 7.30pm and the first 50 people in the queue will get an extra special gift.

It’s not all about London as the tour then continues through the cities of Bristol, Edinburgh, Norwich, Brighton and Liverpool.

More dates and specific venues will be announced over the coming weeks.

I think it was a Simpsons joke.

Jasper: Why bother voting? He's guilty.
Flanders: Well, we might as well make it official.
Homer: What does "sequestered" mean?
Skinner: If the jury is deadlocked they're put up in a hotel together so they can't communicate with the outside world.
Homer: What does "deadlocked" mean?
Skinner: It's when the jury can't agree on a verdict.
Homer: Uh huh. And "if"?
Skinner: A conjunction meaning "in the event that" or "on condition that".
Homer: So if we don't all vote the same way, we'll be deadlocked and have to be sequestered in the Springfield Palace Hotel...
Patty: That's not going to happen, Homer.
Jasper: Let's vote. My liver is failing.
Homer: ...where we'll get a free room, free food, free swimming pool, free HBO... Ooh! "Free Willy"!
Skinner: Justice is not a frivolous thing, Simpson. It has little if anything to do with a disobedient whale. Now let's vote!
Homer: Uh, how are the rest of you voting?
Everyone: Guilty.
Homer: OK, fine. How many S's in "innocent"?
Everyone: Aw.
Homer: I'm only doing what I think is right. I believe Freddy Quimby should walk out of here a free hotel.

I so need to move down to London now, you always get these sort of things. And Glasgow never gets anything like this as well (be it video game/anime/movie/music/etc) related

I believe it's also in Edinburgh as well if you read the entire post, unless there's some intense rivalry between the two cities that I'm blissfully unaware of it's all cushtie

Sometimes the internet gives me hope. Like when a topic with this title is made and nobody makes an incredibly tired movie reference that has lost more meaning and impact than "the cake is a lie," if the statement even had any meaning in the first place.
