Death Scythe
I just watched the first ep, and thought that is was extremely amazing!

The OP is very good, and the ED is pretty good too, the animation is outstanding (as is expected of modern digital animation), and the story line has a lot to unfold and i'm sure will turn out to be very good.

What do you think of it though? :p

I fell asleep when watching this, not because it was boring I don't think. I'm going to re watch it tomorrow. I was incredibly tired when I watched it. Good intro though.

I was really impressed with the animation and general atmosphere, not to mention the monsters and decapitations :) After hearing this was going to be shown at like 8pm in Japan, I lowered my expectations a little but honestly, this was a suprisingly dark, wonderfully animated new horror series. Well done Production I.G.

While I agree that the animation was impressing I tihnk the episode wasn;t as outstanding content wise. While the characters in general were fairly interesting at this early stage and it certainly appears to be a dark/adult horror series there were certainly moments in episode 1 where I wanted to fast forward as my attention was waning. Obviously this is the introductary episode of a 52 episode series so theres a lot more to come, I just don't feel it made as much effort to "suck" (ha-ha :p) you in as it perhaps should have.

The opening (and opening song) were fantastic, the start of the show was pretty good as we met the characters. Then there was a whole section where I pretty much wanted to fall asleep before the actual horror came into play, I do however feel optimistic that things will improve as the story progresses.

I actually really enjoyed the first episode, the opening scene certainly grabbed my attention and from then on I was hooked- admittedly the story didn't advance all that far but that's to be expected for the first episode of a 52 episode series. I'm definitely looking forward to the next episode.

Like everyone else, I enjoyed this episode, and will definatly be downloading next week. It's presented very well; as Red said, it was most certainly an introductory episode, but one that shows promise.

OMG I CAN'T DOWNLOAD IT I'M GOING TO JUMP OFF OF A BRIDGE!!! D:

I'm really looking forward to seeing it... someday. :(

The opening scene was amazing, and although the rest of the ep was a bit lighter it's a great opener to the series. Saya's character design does look different but we haven't seen her properly 'vamp out' yet. ;)

ladies and gentlemen, we might have a winner here.

I think that single episode was better than the whole of the OVA, it was pretty damn nice, I was confused to see it was a sequel after hearing so many times it was a prequel but I was glad.

Great opener, mite disappointed it didn't shed much light on the preceding feature film, but that's to be expected seeing as this is the first episode in a proposed 50 episode run. Visually it was top notch, the blood splattered intro in particular was a grisly highlight. I also liked the fact they didn't indulge the action at the expense of the plot, allowing the characters room to breathe before getting to the meat of the action, can't wait to see more.

Indeed, it doesn't seem to make much sense. I really enjoyed the first episode though...

Just watched the first ep and really ejoyed it, can't wait for the next one. the characters all seem very interesting especially the guy who had the cello (or whatever it was) case. Loved the Opening music, it was deffinately one of the best I have heard.

Episode 2: We get to see Saya in aciton briefly, but most of this was just character building again (which I guess is to be expected from such a long series.

Im still not sure if I actually personally like this or not, Ive never been able to get into a series thats pretty long before, but I think I shall give Episode 3 a chance. The fight scenes and animation were spot on at least and another cliffhanger at the end of the episode. Pics will soon appear in my blog if anyones interested.

I really enjoyed episode two; Hagi and Kai are already my favourite characters. The series seems to be laying the groundwork for future episodes at the moment, which really is required with such a long series.

I've been watching it and looking forward to ep3 tonight. The character design is a bit irritating- does she REALLY have to have such a short skirt? It's just about the only anime I'm watching at the moment, since MONSTER ended and so has my beloved Ichigo Mashimaro (maybe my alltime fave, I'm a sucker for that nonsensical random stupidity). The choice of Takahashi Hitomi for the theme song was good as it doesn't sound out of place. Strangely, Kai has the same name and looks exactly the same as a character in a billiards game I have on my mobile phone.
Hope it doesn't turn out to be a dissapointment.

Really enjoyed Episode 2 and can't wait for number 3. David is a very mysterious character and I hope we found ouit more about him and who he works for
