The official website of Blood-C: The Last Dark has premiered a trailer for the film.

Blood-C: The Last Dark is the continuation of the television series that laid out the groundwork in preparation for the movie. The project saw CLAMP and Production I.G. combine with CLAMP handling the story and character designs and Production I.G. animating. The cast return with Nana Mizuki (Saya Kisaragi) reprissing the role of Saya Kisaragi. Staff also remains mostly unchanged with Blood-C writers Jun’ichi Fujisaku and CLAMP’s Nanase Ohkawa writing. However series director Tsutomu Mizushima is replaced by animator Naoyoshi Shiotani who is making his directorial debut.

The film will receive its theatrical release in Japan on 2nd June, 2012.

I'm confused as to which movie they laid ground work for. This trailer seems to imply the original "Last Vampire" movie, but shows it cut and pasted with a new plot so is it a prequel to that, or an alternate universe "Last Vampire" movie?

There is some overlap but the TV series basically sets up for a whole reboot of the franchise basically so there are some bits of the story they wanted to keep the same but all of it is in line with the story they set up this time round.

So in short unrelated to the Last Vampire - they rebooted with Blood-C which sets up to The Last Dark.

Right, thanks for that Andrew, so the other question is; are we in any danger of seeing both series and eventual movie over here with a dub, or only sub, or at all? :wink:
 
Well just watched the series, and I'm really up for this film now. Having seen the series, something in the description is also false, but I'm not going to say why/why for spoiler reasons :)
