Best console for "sit back and relax" gaming

Most N64 games I've taken chill out time to explore every part of the games and found it very rewarding, Mostly Legend of Zelda, Banjo Kazooie and Super Mario 64.

The amount of times I've just gone on them games just to jump about and explore them has my greatest moments of enjoyment.

I know it's not a console, but WoW has been quiet relaxing to log into sometimes and set up a camp fire in Ironforge and your away.

I was playing crash bandicoot 3 that was pretty relaxing jump spin bodyslam basically collect boxes, crystals simple.

Ah yes, Sonic The Hedgehog; the mega drive (genesis) series, everything is fantastic. My favourite game ever being Sonic The Hedgehog II.

The classic SNES games are brilliantly worked, Donkey Kong or something coming to mind.

Every single Pokemon game in the franchise has some level of relaxation, the main games (Blue, Red, Crystal, Pearl), the console games (Gale of Darkness XD[or something], And even the stupid games in the franchise (Link, Snap). They are all superb, even if its for a small amount of time to a adventure spreading on for three digit hours. :)

Mainly a PC player, but some great relaxing games can be found on both. The Civ series (and especially Alpha Centauri and Civ 4). Can't wait for 'Beyond the Sword' so i can get some good old fashioned late game wars going. Loved rolling out String deathsphere's and wiping the unrighteous (or righteous in the case of Miriam) off the face of Plant.
Also games like Star Wars Jedi Knight or Knights of the Old Republic are cool especially if you've put enough points into light sabre defection and just stand there bouncing back a hail of blaster fire. 8)
Fable can be fun if you're just wandering about for fun.

But the PC versions were not released simultaneously with the PS1 versions. Those versions came a few years later.

FFVII was released in november 1997 and the PC version in june 1998, no big difference.

I think you've confused "chatter" with "rumors". And there's a new rumor in the gaming world every 10 seconds, so I don't know why you'd take these rumors seriously. The FFVII remake has been rumored for 5 years, and Square Enix have said they still aren't working on it. Rumors cannot be trusted.

Chatter is the correct term, you should look into its meaning. And by this i mean more than just people spouting on forums, but actual posts on large gaming sites.

This is a common misconception. Square Enix did not 'change' to the UE3 engine, they just licensed it from Epic to use for making 360 games. The White Engine is still being used for FFXIII.

Yes i know that FFXIII is on the white engine, i didnt say it wasnt.

I'd like to see FFXIII on 360 - it's mean I wouldn't have to pay that ridiculous price for the PS3 to play the upcoming game I want most. But it's not going to happen, I'm afraid.

It may happen, and i'm not really bothered, blue dragon looks like it may be the next best thing (maybe even better).

The Elite 4 were only ever hard on Red, Blue and with a exception Yellow, and also on the Re-Makes.

All other versions of Pokemon; the Elite 4 are easily your caliber so not too much of a take on.

XD POKEMON PLAYERS TIP: SAVE BEFORE ELITE FOUR, DIE, TURN OFF CONSOLE, TURN ON CONSOLE, RE-START, DIE, TURN OFF CONSOLE, TURN ON CONSOLE. . . . . . . .
