I'll be honest, the dub for bebop is one of the best i've seen, its done extremely well.

As for the live action, they said really early days, so i'm not gonna really take a guess at what coule be made of it, though i'm hoping that they keep to their word and be as faithful to the series as they say they plan to be. I also think Spike maybe pretty hard to get an actor for, i can't really think of anyone that really matches him right.

I couldn't agree more. Steven Blum as Spike is fantastic.

Heh, I always figured the two held a lot of similarities.

As for the CB movie, I'm feeling a little concerned. Seems like a ton of live action anime adaptions are on the horizon and I can't help but think a fair portion wil be crap. Aside from the episodic structure, Cowboy Bebop could work very well, but I wonder whether there's really any need for this. It was influenced heavily by Western cinema in the first place, so why send it back the other way again?

But seriously, this could be pretty good or just fail, we'll wait and see how much is being poured into it and if it's a job worthy of the effort or just a stink bomb which I go the cinema to watch just to laugh at, only time will tell.

I think this has a pretty good chance. Although the biggest part will be getting the right actors on board, and for that they will need money so I hope it gets a decent budget.
 
they will need money for everything, not only for actors and I don't believe they really need the expensive actors only... they could do with good little known actors - I do have Jet Li as Spike and Beat Takeshi as Jet.... I know Jet Li is not japanese, but I think he would be a cool Spike =)
 
It's FOX so that means we're looking at i'm certain of an American cast. I just couldn't bear hearing Spike speak and it not being Steven Blum. The martial arts would be difficult, as well as creating the bond and character deveopment the series did in say one 2 hour film.
Like Evangelion Live action, i'm not offended till it actually happens/if it happens at all.
Would love to see Yoko Kanno involved though.
 
o.0 untill you mentioned, I didn't realized it's her... Man, is she in all good shows? It seems to me that she is everywhere....

If ever Keanu Reeves is announced officially as playing Spike I'm out. He's one of the most hopeless big name actors on the silver screen.
 
Hmmm, I think(hope) this is just another rumour. Gonna take everything I hear with a pinch of salt untill it's made official.

Ditto, i would like to think that more thought is put into the casting process with adaptions like this, maybe we should start thinking of who would be right for the roles :p

Good plan,i would have to say Johnny Depp would be a good spike(as previously mentioned).Also,Brian Blessid as mad peirrot!^_^
