BBC Japanorama quiz on otaku culture

How much of an otaku of you? Courtesy of our forum member boyinastairwell, we have noticed that the BBC website are currently running a short but fun quiz on the subject of Japanese otaku.

Nope not offensive just means a HUGE FAN although it is known to have negative connotations

That it is... Got myself a 5/8 aswell, Not sure i like the idea of 5/8. Wanted something lower like 2/8

7/8 for me... The one question I couldn't answer I guessed wrongly

"Otaku" isn't a particularly offensive term in Western culture. Like "manga" and "anime", these words have completely different meanings in Japan to the rest of the world.

5/8. Though after seeing japanorama I'm not sure I want to call myself an Otaku.

I actually dislike anime fandom that's totally uncritical of the product and turns it into a religion.

By the way most of season 1 of Japanorama is on youtube.

Silly quiz and the moe question was wrong, as it's a love for young female characters, but hey! it's the BBC :lol:
I got 6/8 because 2 of the questions were something I just wouldn't know about!!
