Bayonetta

The reviews say the PS3 version is crap, and the XBOX 360 version is l33t. To the people playing the PS3 version; do the bugs annoy you? (Loading times on everything, screen tearing, worse graphics, etc.)

I'm tempted to pick it up at £18...

I played the demo on the PS3 and didn't notice anything drastic, I mean, it was completely playable. I think there was too much emphasis put on the frame-rate issues, especially when there are much worse abusers out there. This is besides the point:

...I thought the patch fixed the problem?

Get the PS3 version if you want, it's by no means "bad" but the 360 version is apparently the superior of the two.

I think that was just with the loading times, which are now sorted since there was a patched released for it to deal with them. They where apparently hellish as well from what i remember hearing.

Comnpleted the PS3 version and I can say that 'review' was BS. The loading times were annoying before the patch, but now they are negligible. There is no screen tearing, and the graphics are just as good as the 360, only the colours are slightly different. I'd say go for whichever controller you prefer.

If you'd put this earlier, i'd have bought it for £18. I've missed my chance, so I wont be playing this game for a while.

The graphics are "just as good as the 360" if you ignore the significantly lower frame rate and lower texture quality. Now, you might not notice much of a difference, or care about it, but whichever way you look at it, Bayonetta is an awful port.

That's the thing - I dunno if I would notice the frame rate. I'd probably notice the texture quality mind.

Without comparing the two directly, i've no idea. I missed my chance anyway, I guess.

You wouldn't notice the texture quality, because, heck, you have nothing to compare it to. That could just be as good as it gets for this game. PS3-users should be used to a sometimes bad frame-rate though. I can't help but think of the awful Sonic Unleashed game whenever I mention frame-rate - its the flagship game for bad frame-rate (albeit, the patches sorted it out a fair bit).

Been playing this since late last week. Bayonetta makes this old gamer feel--as the young 'uns would say-- like a proper "bad arse".

Wish it would stop dishing out the frankly embarassing stone awards, though. I'm not that bad at all. Trouble is, using a few items or dying a couple of times (in my case usually thanks to cheap QTEs or instakills like the lava on chapter III) is enough to drag your overall ranking right down.

After an unsure start, when the combat seemed too frantic and the combos too numerous, I'm coming around to the opinion that Bayonetta is up there with Ninja Gaiden and Devil May Cry 3 as one of the greatest "hack and slash" fighters ever. Sorry, I mean EVAR!!!!11

It's better than both Ninja Gaiden and Devil May Cry, easily. Also what difficulty you playing on btw? I played through normal first time and got mostly stone awards then I did hard and went back to normal, now I casually breeze through normal with little effort getting Plat/Pure Plat on a regular basis.

I started on easy but soon realized that it was too easy and switched to normal. I'm getting plenty of platinums and a few pure platinums in the verses, but my continues mess up the final ranking. Though last night I replayed chapter II, not dying once, and come away with silver. I'm getting there.

Fifty five hours in and still going, Pillow Talk is a great weapon.

Nice!
I'm only an hour and a half in and hoping there's a hell of a lot more to come. I am getting far too excited when a mob of angels burst out.
:p
