Crunchyroll to Stream "Diabolik Lovers" Anime

The fall season of streaming anime has BEGUN! Diabolik Lovers, based on the PSP visual novel by Rejet, begins simulcasting today.

Better still, this supernatural-tinged otome game adaptation, animated by studio Zexcs (Flowers of Evil) is set to broadcast every Monday starting today September 16, at 12:00p.m. Pacific Time for its premium members, with free members able to watch one week later. More information can be found on www.crunchyroll.com/diabolik.

Official synopsis (yes, I am not making this up)

“The girl learns her fate amongst the beautiful scent of wild roses. The girl encounters them, as if being drawn there by the threads of fate.

‘Yours Truly is going to take her every first experience.’

‘Tell me, do you hate me? Do you want to learn more about me?’

‘Does it hurt? You poor thing... Okay, I'll make it hurt even more, little bitch.’

‘I know why you came to this house. This blood (of yours) is of the finest quality.’

‘Humans are nothing more than containers of blood.’

‘Stay out of my business! Come any closer, and I'll destroy you!’

They are vampires, hungry for blood and avarice. Something inside the girl begins to unhinge, and something starts to stir. No matter where she goes, she can no longer escape.”

Diabolik Lovers will be available to Crunchyroll’s audience in the following territories: USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, The Netherlands, Scandinavia, and Turkey.

I can't wait to see what new announcements Anime-on-Demand will have for us!

I hope not! I'm currently rewatching Tamako Market, and the only announcement I can envisage from them at this point is... bzzzt. Sorry, we ran out of fifty centime coins to feed the meter.

I'm uneasy about the next series of Magi under the circumstances. Pesky AoD...

Anyway, I'll be watching Diabolik Lovers once I get home tonight for sure :D

I expect AoD is closing given this:

Digital streaming and distribution of anime was also discussed - Crunchyroll and Netflix were both mentioned, as was the fate of Anime on Demand which it seems can't currently be commented upon due to non-disclosure agreements.
A shame (somewhat), a pity Anime Limited can't take over ownership.

I'll probably be giving Diabolik Lovers a watch.

Next up: Valvrave the Liberator Season 2

Valvrave is set to broadcast on October 10, at 10am to the following audiences: US, Canada, United Kingdom, and Ireland.

Valvrave the Liberator Second Season - PV 1

Laced with an all-star vocal cast, VALVRAVE THE LIBERATOR will soar high this fall with the help of Ryota Ohsaka and Ryohei Kimura as the story’s protagonists, Asami Seto and Haruka Tomatsu. Mr. Kimura (known for lead roles in Haganai, Angel Beats, Star Driver) and Ms. Tomatsu (known for lead roles in Sword Art Online, Accel World, To Love-Ru, Bodacious Space Pirates) will provide some veteran vocal experience to bring this story to life. Ms. Seto (Dog Days, Magi) and Mr. Ohsaka (OniAi, Oreshura, Attack on Titan) - two of the hottest new voice actors – will join the cast to make this one of the most anticipated series of the season.

For those who want to check out this interesting, interstellar title:
“A new age where 70% of the human population lives in space thanks to the development of “Dyson Sphere”, a city in space. The world is divided into two main powers: The Dorssia Military Pact Federation, a power which grew out of a military alliance, and the Atlantic Rim United States (ARUS), which grew in power as it expanded its trade agreements.

The minor nation of JIOR has declared neutrality between these two forces and maintains its peace through economic prosperity. Within the JIOR’s Sphere, Haruto Tokishima lived an ordinary life as a high school student in the division known as “Module 77”—until the Dorssian military begins their sudden invasion! But the whole world will be shaken when Haruto meets the mysterious humanoid weapon, Valvrave!”

Will have to wait to see if Daisuki do anything for the UK with Kill La Kill and Magi Season 2

I'll probably be giving Diabolik Lovers a watch.

I hope one day Anime Limited will have their own streaming service on their website and add titles from Manga, MVM and 101 to the mix.

Ignore this thread too please

So we're not getting Samurai Flamenco on Crunchyroll either. What's going on? Are we about to see Anime on Demand rise from the ashes? Actually no, forget that, We're more likely to see a new series of Full Metal Panic than a revival for AOD.

Re: The News Thread (for news that does not need a thread)

I'm pretty annoyed about the (lack of) streaming we're getting this season. There's no alternative being presented and I really wanted to see more Magi and start Samurai Flamenco in particular. I'd have watched all of the shows which have been blocked so far, in fact :/

Going to blame everything on AoD as they streamed Magi s1 (late) and then flaked out, possibly locking the rest up in a deal and further convincing Japan that splitting the UK into its own region was a good idea. Bleh.

Is there any avenue open to complain to them about this?

Not that I know of. Crunchyroll will blame Aniplex USA, who will blame Aniplex Japan... who are probably sitting around waiting for Anime On Demand or another non-existent UK streaming service to come along and bid on the UK rights. We've been royally screwed over by UK companies making it seem like we're a valid market then failing to follow through and actually provide a service here.

I'd recommend complaining anyway everywhere you can think of in case someone with a brain reads it and makes the necessary phone call to someone who can take action. It really annoys me that the Japanese streams are usually locked too nowadays since I don't even need the subs - I just want to support good shows and good service.

R (I'm just boycotting any show they don't stream here. They can keep their bally merchandise.)

I did that last season, but I want a decent amount of stuff to watch this autumn. And last season it just happened that none of the stuff that I most wanted to watch were blocked. They haven't been yet this season either, but then that's mainly just luck by the seems of things. Hopefully things get better now that the Aniplex titles (which in the past have always been available for us) are out the way.

I'm still expecting AoD to come back to life again, though. Otherwise stuff would have at least been available on Daisuki's (wider) region availability. Wouldn't it?

May I suggest the first revolution as part of their strategy for the new European anime service be actually streaming the shows they promised to stream instead of introducing hassle and delays for no reason? I'm lucky that I have other hobbies T_T

And I'm not using them unless they communicate this time. Assuming they even include the UK at all.

R
Not 'effing the UK around would be a decent start. Viz have gotten back on my good side with Jump so it'd be in their best interests not to try to balance that by arsing around with the anime stuff.

I'm still angry that Kill La Kill is going to be cockblocked by this nonsense (SF I was expecting because that's Noitamina and therefore a law unto itself) and I've pretty much resigned myself to getting that illicitly (because that's better than the not at all that Daisuki or AoD is going to provide, if they even bother) and I will not second guess going back to that if the Japanese think this sort of nonsense is playing ball.

I wonder how much it would cost for AukN to just take the duties of AoD for ourselves and get this **** done already?

Unless you live in America, you're always going to get completely screwed over.
I dunno, the last few seasons haven't been that bad about this. This season just comes off as an utter fustercuck and it's mostly Aniplex's ******** too.

Is Kill La Kill still being streamed over here, I see it mentioned on CR's website but I also notice Aniplex also have their hands upon it?
