Australian import friendly sites

I'm looking for any import tax friendly/reshipping Australian distributors of dvd & bluray (in this case specifically for dbz kai final chapters but to also use in the future.)

I'm sure there's a topic on this out there but this new site layout is buggy as hell on my phone making it hard to search & type.
 
I usually just walk into retail stores as I live here, but JB Hi-Fi and Sanity do international. The Australian division of Amazon has also opened up recently (to much hype by the media, then much apathy by consumers). Never used the Australian division, not sure what they're like. I was going to suggest EzyDVD, but they now only ship locally and to New Zealand.
 
As a non-Australian I agree with Sanity. While on holiday I bought Karin out of one their outlets near Narre Warren and the girl behind the counter was very pleasent. Also checked the website and they are game to ship abroad. Anime DVD & Blu Ray | Sanity Online

They've proven a reliable bunch for importers and are still going strong. Others to consider are Ebay and Amazon. You'll need to do your homework, but generally the prices listed (inc P+P) are what you pay. You might even bag a bargin. Check your local sites first as digging in foreign branches can and often get pricey.

On a mixed and sad note. Can't say much for JB HI-FI. Their range was good when I dropped by but didn't deal with them so can't say much about them. Another place, if you ever get a chance to visit Melbourne in Minotaur. Very nice store, Very nice staff and an interesting range of manga and mixed region DVD's (bought some R1 and R4 from them), but they don't sell internationally. If you're will to go round the world (pun intended) for a dvd and have a friend near Melbourne it is another way and means (albeit on of last resort). It would be a god send if Minotaur were willing to ship abroad, but for now they don't.

With JB Hi-Fi, it really depends on the store. Some have a wide range of anime titles, some don't. I've also found that some shops don't get Madman titles in on the day of release. Some shops only get them on the shelf the following week. The discounts are far better than Sanity, that's for sure.

Minotaur is easily the best comic book shop/pop culture shop in Australia. Puts the two lame ones in the Sydney CBD to shame. Surprisingly there are far more retail anime shops in Melbourne than there are in Sydney. There's a bunch in the city but also a couple of good specialised retailers out in the suburbs, in Brunswick and Huntingdale.

What are they called and do they ship abroad? :)
 
Most of the retail anime shops in Sydney and Melbourne paradoxically do not stock anime (i.e. DVDs and Blu-rays). Also most don't ship overseas. The items they do sell such as figures and merchandise, you can easily get much cheaper from Amazon.co.jp, AmiAmi or other Japanese online retailers. But I'll list them anyway.

In Melbourne;
One Stop Anime (Figures, merchandise etc.)
Nekocards (Card games)
Critical Hit (Figures, merchandise etc.)
Animasia (Figures, Gunpla etc.)
Hearns Hobbies (General hobby store with about 150 anime related model kits)
Anime Town (in Brunswick, figures, merchandise etc.)
Gundam Universe (way out in Huntingdale, Gunpla shop)

In Sydney;
Anime at Abbotsford (one shop in the CBD in Chinatown, second in Abbotsford, figures, merchandise etc.)
AnimeWorks (in the city, but way down on Broadway in Glebe, figures, merchandise etc.)
Kaika (New anime shop in the CBD, figures, merchandise etc.)
Books Kinokuniya (Japanese book chain, artbooks, manga in Japanese in English, various anime magazines and some Japanese manga anthologies - really expensive shop)
HobbyCo (general hobby store with three shops in Sydney, but the one in the CBD has a really good range of Gunpla, figures and some merchandise)
Hondarake (Obscure Japanese 2nd hand book store chain with shops mostly in Kyushu and one shop in Sydney, go figure. 2nd hand Japanese manga, some DVDs and CDs, the occasional artbook)

Anime Merchandise more so than anime then. Thank you for posting as it'll certainly come in handy. Forbidden Planet International would be an equivalent over here as while it isn't exclusively anime it does do anime merchandise and manga, but no longer stocks dvd's (used to do some older and obscure titles but couldn't compete with HMV and online).
