As the site didn't cross-post this to the forums I'm doing it myself :)

We recently had the chance to interview Mariko Hihara, an independent novelist and manga writer who has self-published several of her works in English for a wider audience via the Kindle store. This was a very special opportunity and I hope that people enjoy reading about a side of the hobby which we rarely hear from outside Japan.

Enthusiasm from some of the staff here, a few convoluted connections and the determined tenacity of the interviewee :D

Personally speaking I don't think these indie writers get nearly enough credit for what they do, so I was very excited to be able to play a (minuscule) part in the process in my neglected role as an editor here!
