Are United Publications normally this slow?

Long story short I have Legendary Ninja Cats and Qwaser Of Stigmata Season 2 pre-ordered and both came out last week...they are not in stock even though UP1 usually gets whatever comes out in America that week in stock on the day it comes out (usually Tuesday). I wait a few days and nothing happens then nothing over the weekend since they were at a convention which okay fair enough. Then yesterday nothing again though it was a bank holiday. So finally today they get both in stock and my order status for both titles was put to Being Processed earlier today...and it's still on there and I have a feeling that if it's not changed by 6pm today (which I assume they close up for the day) I'll have to wait til tommorow for them to be shipped out. But what if tommorow they don't ship them out and I'm still waiting over the week...what do I do?.

I've never seen UP1 this slow before ever, even on a week when they go to a convention if something I order is out the week they go to one they've normally sent it to me before then. I've used UP1 for years (though I wish I could find a good site for non R1 anime DVDs since Axel Music went under) and have never been dissapointed by them but this is the worst experience with them I've had with them.

Maybe I'm overreacting here but I was just wonder if anyone here who has used UP1 has had a similar experience

Occasionally I do notice titles that are in stock everywhere else but there and have to prompt them.

I dunno what happened with Qwaser as I have that on order too, seems like it should of been in stock a week or two ago but it's hard to know what's happening behind the scenes with distributors and such.

I think perhaps we can give them some lee-way after a Con and Bank Holiday, who knows what has piled up since Thurs/Fri?

Overall I seem to get stuff on or before release date so I don't think there's anything to worry about at this time.

iv ordered Qwaser season 2 too, give them time there was that expo and that bank holiday, there a nice bunch and very helpful, i dont mind waiting since iv got to get through 3 other series and the 1 season of Qwaser, theres no rush unless its argent

Not always, they do occasionally get some titles a few days later. Depends when their stock is sent out.

UP1/UP1USA are not in office on weekends anyway.

Haven't there been postal strikes today?

Sent them a polite email querying the status of your order or Wait Patiently.
I emailed them on friday to ask about the situation of my order which consisted of Attack on Titan Manga v1-4 and Tiger & Bunny Box 2. Turned out they were waiting on stock of Attack on Titan 4, so I asked them to send what they had. They then sent the package out within 20 minutes of my message being sent.

Remember you are relying on their stock from the US coming in time. Don't just assume it will always arrive in time for release.

I think you are, there are other factors to take into consideration other than UP1 being slow.

Qwaser Of Stigmata Season 2 has been a bit slow posting out from everywhere as far as I can tell, I had it pre-ordered with rightstuf and they only shipped it out on the 29th (1 day before release) where as other sentai titles normally get sent 2 weeks+ before the release date in most case.

Actually I'm pretty sure they have someone in most Saturdays, I've definitely had orders made on a Sat morning dispatched the same day, the exception being any convention weekend, those tend to even affect orders placed after midday Friday as they must be prepping stock.

I'm always really impressed by their response times too, I've sent them a message at 5:55pm when I forgot something and had a response within about 10 minutes, any other site I'd expect them to have all gone home by 5pm.

Not sure about postal strikes, I hope there's one somewhere as one of my UP1 parcels has gone AWOL and i'm hoping it's just held up somewhere

hell there are even pre order dvds that i ordered came more then a week earlier, so we should give them credit for doing that,

altho there are 1 or 2 two things that tick me off about there site -
i order a dvd from them and a week later they said they cant get it anymore. they should try and look up what they can and can not get, this has happened to me more then 5 times or more but its cool.

Is it possible Qwaser has had 'difficulties' with customs because of its content?

No, it wasn't even shipped yet. But UP1 does have it in stock now so I doubt it anyway. Besides there is shows with worse content than QoS anyway

It could just be that there have been problems with availability (legendary ninja cats is already OOS on the distributors website), but these problems are rare.

Those people who work at the crown post offices have been on strike not the royal mail.

You mean, like the customs officers enjoyed it so much they haven't stopped watching it yet?

Would not surprise me.

Anyway both were finally shipped yesterday. Remind me to never order something when it's release date is the same week as a convention UP1 is at

I think perhaps you've blown this a little out of proportion. Someone already mentioned Qwaser seemed slow everywhere, and who knows what was happening at UP1, some days at work we have multiple people calling in sick or any number of unexpected occurrences that throw things off.

I imported Nichijou: Part 2 from Australia. DevotedDVD were really cool about it and sent it out a few days before the official release.

It was delivered today... Three and a half weeks later.

Lengthy waits aren't good for the stomach lining, but the happy dance when the stuff eventually turns up is all the better for the wait.

Just so you know, there's a subtitle issue on episode 9 of legendary ninja cats and the distributor is issuing a replacement disc.

I got my copy of Legendary Ninja Cats this morning from United Publications and they have stated on my invoice that they will be sending out replacement discs out as soon as they can.

That's good news, nice to see its more than just rightstuf that are automatically sending replacements out.

My copy will probably have the replacement disc included (or I might get a set that already has a replacement) as I had to group it with items that won't be out for a few weeks.

I've actually had them be kinda slow when I've ordered NISA sets recently that aren't even preorders.

That said they're usually lightning fast.

I wish they'd neaten their site up a bit though.
