Anything worth watching

Lo Chaps,

New to the forum and just wondering if there is anything that really is worth watching atm or something that I should be looking out for.

Dont get a lot of time atm to watch :/

I'm kinda into the Mech sort off anime. Like BLue gender and neon genesis. Ilike the old style and funky stuff like Vampire Princess myika (lol forgot here name). I did see a Film review for a really cool anime. I can only remember half the title it's something like Walking Castle. It looks like it's done like Spirited Away. Yet another great movie and well deserved the award.

Sounds like Laputa - Castle in the Sky!

Try Dead Aggressor/Soukyuu No Fafner for mech anime, so much better than EVA (my opinion only mind!) but it's extremely good. You could try the Macross series of anime (Plus, Lovers Again, 7, Zero etc), plus Rahxephon is also good for mech.
For the Vampire Miyu type, much harder, but you could try Rozen Maiden, or Devil Hunter Yohko. (The latter being quite old now, but it is available on DVD :D ).

Wkd cheers for that. I'll pop alonge to a store later and buy up some DVD's. Just been so bored lately. Watched all my anime dvd's like 10 times.
I will rechomend a DVD it's sooo cool. Texhn Lyze. it's brilliant. Had me on the edge off my sheat all the way through.

Yeah i totally agree. my hand hurt after watching that with my girlfreind.lol

cheers necromancer_1983 That's what it's called. soooo gotta watch that.

it's on my 'to buy' list for definite. after watching Lain and the first two discs of Haibane Renmei, ABe has become one of my fave directors.

i'd second the suggestion of RahXephon if you're a fan of NGE. an older short series by NGE's director is Gunbuster - a brilliant six-parter with giant robots and some superb drama.

anything by the same studio as Spirited Away is always good - some of the films like Princess Mononoke are available for less than £10 in some places.

yeah Concrete badger i can get then older dvd's for £4.99. I got loads. I reckon my worst buy was cardcaptors the movie. donno why i brought that.lol. Bored i gues.

Oh, I echo Miaka-chan wholeheartedly, Fafner is completely superior to Evangelion, my favourite mecha anime.

Nice to see another Texhnolyze fan here. Welcome to the boards, Angelic Anime, and enjoy your stay!

Is Fafner out on DVD? I tried searching for it but don't know what to look under as I don't seem to be getting any hits. It sounds interesting.

It's recently been licensed by Geneon and I believe volume 1 was set to be released some time next month.
You could search under the English title of Dead Aggressor.

Could try some Gundam... I'm still not sure where it's best to start though :/

Hmmm...I'd say because SEED is excellent on its own, has great animation and is easy to get into, then to work your way further back, stopping at key points like Zeta.

gundam seed is the seire i like most for all the gundam series. I very was puting off watching this serie the frist time around as i had watch gundam wing and hated it but seed is so much better and it ended up becomeing one of my frvs

If you going to start with the older Gundam stuff the best place is the movie trilogy or the original tv series both tell the same story, the TV series is alot longer but the R1's are dub only the movies are sub only but tell the story just as well are alot cheaper and are available in the UK
