Anime on TV ~ September 2011 Edition

I thought Disney's primary goal was to make anti-Nazi propaganda films. Not to mention, being accused of links to communism in the cold war. Then, for the company to be accused of Nazi progaganda decades later with The Lion King.

Oh Disney, you war mongrels you.

Lion King Nazi?

It's based on Hamlet and *cough* Kimba *cough*
During the scene where "Be Prepared" is sung, the hyenas are seen goose-stepping in front of Scar, who is perched on an overlooking cliff, with beams of light pointing upwards (resembling the cathedral of light seen in many of the Nuremberg rallies). The scene was apparently modelled after footage from the Nazi propaganda movie "Triumph of the Will".

So yeah, Scar = Hitler. Apparently that similarity was made to make viewers hate Scar.

But then there were also allegations of Walt Disney being an antisemite. To be fair, he was part of a union which had strong antisematic views. Put those together, and you have some pretty fun conspiracy theories.

Speaking of which, they're re-releasing The Lion King in 3D soon aren't they?

disney channel must be desperate to be using anime.
or are they trying to use anime to get people that watches anime to watch disney?
Gah, you're so annoying...
Anyways it's likely within their target audience and as seen brings in a reasonable audience for DXD hence why it is shown.
Also noting that Disney XD use to be Jetix, it's no surprise that it's being given a chance.

Would you like some more illustrations to go with your new favorite show, Ryo?
Now all you can see is Twilight Sparkle using the God Hand. Have fun with that.

Dood, Disney XD is Jetix/Fox Kids, it's not as if they don't have a history (a very spotty one as any Naruto, Sailor Moon or Digimon fan will tell you), but a history nontheless.

And Shaman King fans.

Still, I was quite surprised to see that 4kids kept the guns in that one.

My point was about the shows that got shafted. Though on reflection, I'll accept Escaflowne to my list if only for the same retarded scheduling as Naruto.
