I don't care for art books. Getting the Gurren Movies was the only extra that made that set worth more than the normal set but even then that's pushing it. Hurts me to say it, but that’s how I feel. The sets above don't come with anything much other than the show itself really, but they look so amazing presentation wise that I feel that I have to buy them and own them. That's the reason I actually bought the Rahxephon and Lain sets for example. The box just looked so awesome. For me, the presentation is just as important. Maybe that's just me.
It's kind of a Catch-22 really. Whatever our focus is we'll not be the right edition for everyone 100% and our focus is very often on the book frontier. It shouldn't hurt to say if elements don't appeal and I agree - presentation is very appealing too all in all which is why for even non Ultimate Editions we put a tonne of effort in to them .
We'll definitely keep it in mind at least on regular editions but where we are trying to offer more as a USP like an Ultimate Edition, size often has to be considered if we do want to include a book or other presentation points. Definitely do want to experiment with other ways to define an Ultimate but it really ranges from project-to-project.
No point making an oversized box just because we can but conversely don't want to avoid it if there's a solid idea behind it .
Hope that makes sense >_<!
