Anime Limited Survey on Sub Only Movies

I put:
No
Yes
Voucher,
F*** the rest.
I buy my entertainment like I buy my meat. Quality over packaging and extras.
No dub, no interest, no profit from me. Simples.

Alternately, I don't know if this is as viable here as it is in America, but I wouldn't mind an extremely Limited import release like Aniplex did with Madoka/Funi did with GiTS:Arise.
These "limited imports" is the same as their "limited editions" Just a rouge to justify jacked up prices, A rouge that will never work with me.....ever.

So dub equates to quality for you mohawk?
No, dubs means I can enjoy the entertainment without having to pause and read script on the bottom every few seconds. I'm an old git, so my eyes aren't as good as they once were. Quality is in the content, and execution of that content of a title, and a very individual determination which I'm sure you appreciate.

I was about to question how old you were then when you said you had to pause to read :p

For me as long as the video and audio are good, and the packaging looks great then that's quality.

Hi all,

That's pretty fair! I should also quantify what I meant was if no dub was available or announced when we needed to release - we'd never do a collectors edition sub-only if we KNOW there is a dub round the corner a few months later. In that case a speedy-release is best left to iTunes or other VOD sources though to give the immediate gratification.

Will keep folks updated what it relates to in due course too!

Very best,

Andrew

I am all for a Sub only release, especially if it's the only way of getting a series to be released in the UK - for example, something like Monster & Garden of Sinners

As for physical extras, if it is a movie I love (or, if it was available for free on Wakanim so I could try before I buy) I would have no problem spending £35 if it included any on disc extras and a soundtrack/artbook and came with cowboy bebop like packaging.

I think if it's a sub-only release of a show that is legally available via streaming, some kind of physical extra would be needed as an incentive to purchase tbh.
