Surely we’re nust waiting for the rights to expire with FUNI?Think I will wait for a cheaper edition even if its a while off. The Ultimate edition is too much for me anyway. Its a shame AL don't have the movies.

While I get your point, licensing wise I don't think it would be possible have the original content and the Rebuild content (and people have forgotten another series also) altogether. King Records handles Neon Genesis Evangelion while NTV I believe handles the Rebuild of Evangelion, so it's probably too much committee/distributor faff for Khara to sort out.Think I will wait for a cheaper edition even if its a while off. I reckon it's going to be an irregular order. We'll probably get 3.33+1.11 from Anime Limited and slowly get the others bit by bit. Their name is in the credits which can't be a coincidence.Surely we’re nust waiting for the rights to expire with FUNI?
Having looked at the Evangelion AL site, the only part that mentions exclusivity with the Ultimate Edition are the paperweight and ID card with lanyard as they were created for these UE type sets.Thinking about it I don’t think the UE would be the only way to get the ADV content. Why would they shoot themselves in the foot when it’s a key USP, and why wouldn’t they market the UE is the only way like they did for SDBD and Gundam Seed because being vague helps no one and it will lead controversy come Aug 30 whatever way it goes (esp if the UE is then OOP).
That only really means the 3+1 is likely. I’m not really sure there’s much point in re-releasing the others (especially out of order), as all the good stuff relates to the original series. Although there could be some extras/making of to append to the latest, I doubt there would be enough (or compelling) to distribute among the earlier sections.I reckon it's going to be an irregular order. Would anyone actually want a CE of the Netflix version? Bare-bones; maybe, but if anyone was to look at a CE/LE; the interest would probably be simply a decent quality and decently accurate (true to original) in digipak. As to whether the ADV discs will be brought over to cheaper editions is unknown, but I would not be surprised if we get a Collector's Edition option that will only include a rigid box, Amaray for Netflix TV discs, Amaray for Netflix Film disc and a booklet that covers the 'best of' UE artwork like Fullmetal Alchemist (2003) and Gundam SEED.
Do it through the Evangelion microsite, not AtA main store;Btw. How do I check the number of copies remaining? I can only put 20 to the basket. Is that some trick?

Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time
Coming to UK cinemas from October 6thevangelion.alltheanime.com
669 remaining…
They were located near the very end of the credits list, and I presume it's a special thanks section. They were named alongside a Shanghai licensor. What are AL credited for in the latest eva movie @NormanicGrav ? I remember someone (maybe you) posting the screen with that info, but I can't remember what for.
ADV is the distributor that used to release Evangelion. Manga Ent. did the films. When I watched Evangelion I skipped Fly Me To The Moon every single time.
Evangelion has a dub? Also, what does ADV mean?
Safe to say, I'm happy to wait for the cheaper editions. I do love the design though.
I kind of miss the ADV label. Pity they no longer have a UK presence.ADV is the distributor that used to release Evangelion. Manga Ent. did the films.
ADV nowadays is pretty much Sentai Filmworks.
Off topic but ADV's release of Excel Saga was a true masterclass in how to do extras on a DVD. It had pop up bubbles explaining all the little parodies and Japanese jokes that obviously someone put a lot of time and care into.I kind of miss the ADV label. Pity they no longer have a UK presence.

It's a shame these days the best they can crap out is clean OP/EN credits and call those 'special features'.......
I never knew there were so many variations until I looked up on some wiki or other. When I watched Evangelion I skipped Fly Me To The Moon every single time.
Being more ‘on-topic’; the AtA CEs can often be disappointing, when the difference from the ‘standard’ version is simply a digipak and/or card box, and possibly a small poster or postcard. And the mentioned ‘clean’ OP/END.It's a shame these days the best they can crap out is clean OP/EN credits and call those 'special features'.......
Not wanting to throw the Anime Limited section off topic but heck, I can remember buying Dirty Pair Flash from Virgin...on VHSI've got nostalgia for ADV too.
Unfortunately, because it was in the days of paying £20 for three episodes (not ADV's fault specifically, the whole industry seemed to be like that), I never got to own many of their releases - I think Hellsing is the only complete series I own from them. I remember getting a couple of Excel Saga DVDs from Virgin Megastore too.
Hugh David (their marketing man) was always pretty cool.

I was a poor student then & balked at the prices so I used to just get the pirate copies off of fledgling ebay... Back then pirate copies were good quality just without extras.I've got nostalgia for ADV too.
