Unfortunately, not every piece of news can be new good news, as is evident in the latest update from distributor Anime Limited, who have had to break the news on a number of their upcoming releases:

First off, as a result of waiting for approval times on the packaging, Kill la Kill's second Collector's Edition release has had its release moved back to 23rd March 2015. The company's planned Place Promised In Our Early Days/Voices of a Distant Star double-pack has also had its release date replaced with a "TBC" as a result of issues regarding access to the English language audio. A production delay has also affected Wings of Honneamise, resulting in its release date being moved to mid-April.

Anime Limited have also confirmed that their planned standard edition release of Tiger & Bunny: The Beginning has been merged into a standard edition twin-pack, bundling it with the theatrical feature Tiger & Bunny: The Rising, which will be available on the same day as the latter's Collector's Edition (27th April). This new twin-pack will be available on both DVD and blu-ray with an SRP of £19.99/£24.99 (DVD and blu-ray respectively).

However, it's not all doom and gloom! Amidst this release date shuffle, Anime Limited will be moving up the release date of HAL's standard edition, which will be available on DVD and blu-ray in March.

Re: Anime Limited Announces Release Delays And Cancellation

Let's hope Aniplex haven't done a Sword Art Online and want Anime Limited to change the covers for Kill la Kill post-volume 1 release.

Nah - not at all. Just because we wanted to do a double book (212 pages) thus merging two books from the Japanese release together it required a bit more time to check, approve etc with Japan sadly. They got there in the end though but by time it was cleared the print deadlines were too close vs the release date for Amazon et al hence the push back by a week from where Amazon had it just now.

Other stuff isn't too serious there but annoying! Side note too we only really merged the TB Beginning standard edition into the Rising standard as opposed to cancelling as standard edition. Pricing hasn't changed that much esp when it hits Amazon but you get more bang for your buck too :).

Good to hear that the release won't be plagued by ugly white backgrounds!

Updated the article reflecting that =3.

A couple of weeks' delay on Kill la Kill doesn't bother me at all. Interesting about Tiger & Bunny - that's going to be a real steal at regular online shopping prices!

Yeah, the T&B double pack sounds like a bargain - hopefully it can give the show a bit of a kick-start in the UK as I've always felt like it had the potential to be much bigger - albeit it was somewhat hampered by the pricey release strategy of the TV show volumes.

Place Promised In Our Early Days/Voices of a Distant Star double-pack has become a bit of a mainstay of my Amazon order list, it's been on there since 2013, I'll miss that little pre-order icon when it's finally released.

Was looking forward to Wings of Honneamise too since I've not actually seen it before, so that's a bit of a disappointment.

The DVD double pack of Tiger & Bunny seems like a cool idea though.

For Honneamise - it's not super far away so don't worry there :)!

It's a good enough reason for a delay, and you're right, it is still pretty close, so I'm not really upset!

Any idea when it/Kill la Kill part 2 will pop up on your shop?

I'm wondering this too, I'm wagering on after release date given the pre-order links all direct to Amazon

Should be next week - working on something else right now on the site first before I do the next round of updates for the store :).

The Wings of Honneamise thing is totally my fault. Every time I preorder anime, it causes it to magically slip in the release schedules. I'm jinxed!

In all seriousness, quite happy to wait a little longer for Honneamise if it assures the quality of the release itself. It's a sublime movie, and I fully trust Anime Limited to deliver the goods, so to speak.

I literally cannot wait to review it for the site.
