Anime cliches

The main character constantly losing to his nemisis but then owning him in the last episode

or

The main character not wanting to hurt anybody because of a promise made to a girl (trinity blood, trigun)

The mysterious transfer student character
The angry guy who you know is only rude because he cares
The big and goofy person with a heart of gold
The quiet and shy girl who goes round speaking in a whisper
The quiet girls angry friend who spends most of her time yelling at anyone who rude to the quiet and shy girl
... Isn't that the cast of Patlabor and Police Academy?

and evangelion ¬_¬

and bleach

I would have to say cherry blossom it seems to be either the focus of an episode or seen falling in the back ground at least once.

when the two main characters are having a romantic moment; one slips on something like a banana or just a slippery floor and they land in a sexual way on the floor

The girl with the side pony tails is aggressive in public, but warms up to the main guy in private.

In harem the main guy is nice, and that's why the girl(s) like(s) him.

Girls with big boobs will have them accidentally groped at least once.

The girls have cute school uniforms, but the guys uniforms are always plain.

Panty shots.

Cheesy J-pop songs for the opening theme tune/throughout the episode which never seem to really capture the current mood.

Oh and heavily distorted guitar...nuff said.

Oh definitley. J-pop themes are a "good" cliche, my hard drive stands as proof!

I don't know the proper terminolgy but the "frustrated pulsating nerve" popping up coupled with the good ol fashioned "insta-collapse" works a charm as well.

Everyone being able to jump 20ft straight up from a standstill without bending their legs.

And

Climbing smooth vertical surfaces without any form of aid.

Anime's that have the main character(s) as a badass with a dark past, who shows up in the first episode to save a weak character (usually a girl) from a hostage situation/monster attack. Usually complete with a "Not that a give a damn, but you can tag along" attitude at the end. (e.g. Hellsing, Claymore, Trinity Blood, Get Backers, etc)

Not that I mind, lots of great animes have used this method to team up characters. :)

Yay another against Tsundere.

Experimental units (mecha, planes whatever) that can utterly trounce regular units and always end in a stalemate if against a similar model.
Experimental units ending up piloted by people who I wouldn't trust with a pointy stick let alone a three ton giant death robot.

I would have just said Tsundere in the first place, but I know that not everyone is familiar with anime lingo and jargon. :)

an exaggerated jaw drop...

punching other characters and they go flying in the air or the girls always beat the guys with lumps on their head...
