Anime Central to be taken off the air!

The BBFC is more or less reason #1 why DVD volumes are still at £20 base rrp in most cases.

It's bad enough they say you can't have the whole of Paranoia Agent, but they'll double dip on thier fees because there's a JP track.

Oh come on, we all know that's Manga's fault.

Their fees are extortionately high. Which means in order to make any money on something which won't sell many copies (especially something which has to be rated for multiple language tracks, incurring twice the cost) distributors have to jack the prices up.

Oh, come on, £800 for a 2 hour feature is hardly extortion (Or just over £1200 for the average 4 episode anime DVD). That's putting MAYBE a quid on each anime DVD on average.

It's still extortionate licencing that's running up that high price tag.

The BBFC are a sham now. The 12A rating just about proves it. It's just a way of getting more of a market for a movie that probably shouldn't even have kids going to it in the first place.

The problem with 12a is that parents aren't being responsible with it. The BBFC advise a minimum of 8 for a 12a film, but the problem is that most parents just see it as being able to see a film they want to go and see without having to hire a babysitter.

I'd be a lot happier if they reintroduced a "hard" 12 alongside 12a, so that stuff that's only just over a PG can be a 12a, but stuff that's just under a 15 can be a 12.

The assumption was always that there would be parental control over what kids would see, a certain responsibility to ensure your kid doesn't 1. end up scarred for life, or 2. annoying other cinema goers. Sadly this never happened. Frankly I'd love a cinema where I could go, maybe for an extra fiver, and they'd stop behaviour like screaming little kids in movies....you know, remove all the people with their feet up, stop people from coming in late, kick anyone out for using a mobile phone (even on silent, the lights are damned distracting)....but then I'm a grumpy old fart....whatcha gonna do.
Get a huge-ass TV for your living room and wait for the DVD/Blu-ray! In all seriousness though, I'm put off watching anything that's below a 15 rating in the cinema because of the hoardes of kids running riot on a sugar rush. Imagine how few can sit still through the third Pirates of the Caribbean movie...

My method right now is to find a cinema with no bus stop near it, become unemployed, and go on school days, it's HEAVEN. I go to the Cineworld near Wolverhampton....they have extra wide seats as standard, the place is always clean and apart from one unfortunate screening of Casino Royale largely child free.

They even do an unlimited ticket. £12 p.m. and you can go whenever you like, for as long as you like. Genius.

Maaaayn I dont get any of that **** when I go to a cinema. No mobiles, no annoying kids (Unless you count the 'lobby' area outside the cinema where they steal obscene amounts of money for what is over-priced crap. Bar Popcorn, overpriced, but not crap.

But yeah. Maaayn id hate it if I had that **** in a cinema
