Anime Adaptation of Junji Ito’s Gyo

Perhaps the best horror manga creator around, Junjo Ito (Tomie, Spiral) has long had his work turned into <a href="http://www.animeuknews.net/news/2459/trailer-for-liveaction-tomie">live action films</a> but now there is information confirming the release of the anime version of Junjo Ito&rsquo;s manga Gyo. Directed by Takayuki Hirao (Kara no Kyoukai: Garden of Sinners) and produced by anime studio Ufotable (Kara no Kyoukai, Coyote Ragtime Show), details were revealed on an <a href="http://www.amazon.co.jp/o/ASIN/B005IAKQ0Q/muhootsaver-22/">Amazon page</a> where a rather creepy image has been released.

Synopsis

A young couple visit Okinawa and visit its beaches where they find themselves caught in the middle of a land invasion by dead fish.

The anime will be released on December the 14th in Japan.

I've seen the general plot synopsis of that short series a few times, and every time it's still a case of "...wat?" That brief synopsis is really underplaying it :lol:

Should be interesting, as it sounds crazy, and based on the volumes of Uzumaki I have, horrifying :lol:

Same reaction from me to be honest. I'm looking forward to it because Junji Ito is one of the few manga artists I've read who can do scary.
