Animax to launch 2010?

I figure (s)he's only made that comment because he saw it on Wikipedia on something. Animax rumours have been going on since 2006, and you know that more than anyone. I so want it to be true, since Sony would be much more intelligent than previous attempts for anime on TV, but I don't foresee it happening anytime soon.

The UK isn't in their world map, is it?
 
Talk of Animax has been around since before TAN:UK and AC. I still say if its not launched yet then its unlikely to, we can still hope though! There was much BS about 'Sky not accepting new channels' but thats just twaddle. Sky like money and more money is good.

Having watched some of the European Animax channels I'd put money on the AC haters being just as negative about Animax. LOTS of repeats and I've even seen a 4kids version of a series on Animax. (the upside being it was in English so I could understand it)
 
not going to happen, they only use the UK as a base for transmiting because of our old tv dish to reach the less developed parts of the world that aren't using digital
 
I can only see it happening as a VOD service right now,not a fully dedicated channel.Even AC wasn't a full channel as it shared air time with pop girl and AN:UK was just a two hour programme block.However,if a VOD service was launched and proved to be popular then maybe Animax would look at creating a dedicated channel.

In short,no but there is hope.

Sorry to crush this but unless something drastic has happened it isn't happening I'm afraid. Before the predictable "how do you know" questions - I actually deal with the people who coordinate Animax across the world for licensing so if it was coming to the UK there's a pretty high chance I'd know about it!

Not related to the Bandai Channel I think you'll find there is reason for fans to look forward to new anime hitting UK shores though :). But that's not my business to discuss :).

and I don't really like gundam anymore =c
 
So? Robotech isn't that good, Gundam is better then the show in that incarnation.

Now the shows that Robotech was made from...like Super Dimensional Fortress Macross, its annoying that there's so much legal issues preventing more of the Macross series to come here.
