Angel Cop

Well I sent Manga Ent an e-mail last night asking if they would be releasing Angel Cop on DVD anytime in the near future, not sure if I'll get an answer or not but we'll see.

Any body else out there like this and want it released. I've been watching my old videos and I still love it, I know the dub is poor but that just adds to it for me

I asked them the same thing about Goodbye Lady Liberty and they haven't replied yet. It's kinda neat looking through old tapes and finding something awesome be it cheesy or otherwise. Angel Cop falls under damn cheesy, damn goood.

Manga released Angel Cop on DVD in the US back in 2000, but it's out of print now. Unfortunately I wasn't particularly interested until I heard the Anime World Order review, which makes it sound like one of those shows that's awesome precisely because it's so unrelentingly terrible.

It's my experience that no-one ever replies to queries like this. I e-mailed Optimum about I Can Hear The Sea / Ocean Waves and Bandai to ask if the original Gundam series was ever likely to recieve a subbed release.

Never heard anything, not even an acknowledgement they'd got my messages. Damn rude if you ask me.

Seen a fair bit with the dub on and it's hilarious (though unintentionally). If Manga did a cheapish re-release I might consider it, however the internet prices for old copies are absurd. It's like it's become a collectors item somehow.

Ah well doesn't sound like I'll get a reply but we'll see.

Think it would take a fair few e-mails to Manga Ent from different people before they consider releasing it anyway.

And suddenly my enthusiasm has withered away, lol!

Nah, Not a fan. True the dub is terrible beyond belief, but I think I was more horrified at how the pretty good first episode about anti terrorism, turned into such a piece of blugh attempt at cyberpunk and failed in every possible way.

But then again, the comedy value of the dub alone could be worth it :p
