ADV UK want opinions on art boxes

After last month's poll asked us what anime we would like to see ADV potentially release in the UK, ADV UK have updated their website poll again; this time asking you how much extra you would be willing to pay for anime art-boxes to hold the numerous DVD volumes a series requires.

Make sure you have your say and potentially influence ADV UK's thinking. Many people feel that the UK community is now big enough to support anime art-boxes, so be sure to stick your mouse pointer where it counts.

The way I see it, if Austrailia can support anime art-boxes, I'm pretty certain UK fandom can too.

I voted for the middle option, which I think was £10 extra for art-boxes. How about you?

Yeah, I voted for £10 also. Although I'd be willing to pay £15 if it was something really special.

I think it's a total rip off for a piece of cardboard

I voted £7 but I still think it's highway robbery!! I'm not that bothered about an Artbox when I buy my DVDs, infact I think the only artboxes I have are when I've picked up volume 1 of something cheap on ebay.

i don't mind paying an extra £7 or so if it's a series i'm really into, but i consider episodes per disc and extra features to be a bit more important.

voted for the £7 option as well, still think thats too high for a piece of cardboard. its not like original artwork is ever even commmissioned for these things. ADV could just get away with bringing over the r1 artboxes which makes it even cheaper.

I picked £7 too. Though the series would have to be of exceptional quality (e.g. NGE Platinum Edition) to warrant it.

But if the options there I wouldn't turn it down. :D

I got myself out of a hole there!

I can't really say it better than that.

I got a copy of Evangelion Platenium (spelling) through my letterbox the other day courtesy of ADV, and it does seem that they want to have the same market in the UK as they do in the US, this has been proven by the implication of the box sets. However I think it might work out better if they keep the japanese boxes. The boxes for RahXephon where fantasicly decorated by the character artist.

Platinum Eva is actually worth buying, unless you have the box set.
