ADV UK appeal to the community

<a href="http://www.advfilms.co.uk/">ADV UK</a> are appealing to the UK community to get involved with their online voting polls (placed top right on their homepage), the results of which will help shape the future of the UK anime market.<ul class="menu">"I (Hugh David of ADV UK) am seriously using each and every one of these polls as a way of both gauging the accuracy of other market research, and of deciding future policy. The series box question, for example, only received a few hundred votes - so not enough to make them affordable to do, a clear resolution to a question continually asked by UK fans. We need responses in the thousands, not hundreds, to justify the cost of certain endeavours."

"Let's try and grow this anime market further, instead of languishing a decade behind other territories throughout the world."</ul>Their current poll asks "Which of these new shows would you most like to see on the 2006 schedule?" - the options are; Area 88, Gatchaman, Gilgamesh, Samurai Gun and Yugo the Negotiator.

Interesting, however there's one thing I need to point out, the poll is not IP locked once you've voted.

I voted for Gatchaman, it counted the vote I made. Then I refreshed the page and it made another vote for Gatchaman. Did it a third time just to be sure, same thing happened

I've already began collecting Gilgamesh on R1, but out of the selection I've voted it. Gatchaman may be retro but i'm indifferent to it.

The UK does not deserve the horrors of Samurai Gun, Area 88 or Yugo!

There should be a poll to ban Yugo the negotiator.

I think Samuri Gun may actually be worse, the trailer made my brain melt from the utterly dire way it was marketed and looked.

I second the banning!

You know a series is terrible when Newtype USA, a magazine that always gives positive reviews and is published by ADV itself, only goes to far as to compliment ADV's co-created Samurai Gun as "different."

I must also concur with this, my brain was also scarred from the Samurai Gun trailer, whilst Yugo and Area 88 look little better. And with Gatchaman holding little interest for me, that leaves only Gilgamesh, not a series that's a priority to collect for me, but one I'd probably rent.

The only series I would bother with on this list is Gilgamesh and even that is hardly something I'm particularly interested in checking out (the character designs look cool though). I have to add that Samurai Gun sounds so contrived it is unreal.

However, it's great that ADV UK are basing a lot of their decisions on the UK community rather than just throwing all these series at us and I hope everyone votes!

I went for Gilgamesh also, dunnoanything about Gatchaman, although I've heard of it.
Gatchaman is the original, uncut Japanese version of Battle of the Planets (or G-Force to some people). It's the one I most want to see out of those.

Lol i voted for Gilgamesh too, i find it very different and pretty damn amazing to be honest, i downloaded the Bittorent thingee from ADV of it and it looks awesome, can't wait to see it.

And with that voting thing, on one of the other polls about something or other (the one that reached about 1000 vots) lol, well about 200-300 of those were from me  . I just voted every time i went onto the page, (which is to see if the news section was updated (before i joined AUKN)), so i just voted every single time    . They really should have that locking thing :p
