ADV troubles again? bye bye PiQ

Well, I think the best thing to do right no would be to try Otaku USA, it's like PiQ only without fail in it and has a few Anime Podcasters writing for it. (AWO, Fast Karate for the Gentlemen, Even the greatest movie ever podcast).

Kinda "Hens teeth" rare over here though.

I agree, otaku USA is probably the best choice for anime fans right now and as for PIQ, it was only a matter of time.I wonder what ADV will offer the subscribers who expected a years worth(apart from a harsh email)

As i have said..........they will find some strange way to blame the demise of a magazine on fansubs :)

Given ADV's past record, a bunch of whining and runnning off with cash, no doubt, lord knows they need it.

Someone go and hit ADV on the head with a plank until they bring back Newtype. It was such a fantastic magazine when I could get ahold of it - I always got good recommendations from it. Piq just diluted it with other stuff I didn't care about. Flicking through it, there was about... ten pages of anime? Not worth it.
I'll do it. :D

I'll agree with you there, even though I only had one issue of it. Compare NewType USA to Piq, and you can easily see which one is better.
The only advantage Piq had over NewType was that it was cheaper (At least in the comic book shop I bought them at anyway. £8 and £4.50 was it?), but the anime coverage was far better.

And speaking of anime magazines... I can't find Neo in any of my magazine shops, they're rubbish. D:

OMFG ITS NOT MY PC THEY HAVE TOOK THE NEWS ABOUT IT BEING THE LAST ISSUE AND ABOUT SUBSCRIBERS DOWN.............MANY PEOPLE ASKED ON THERE IF THEY WERE GOING TO GET A REFUND.

So, would that mean they've changed their minds about closing down, or do they just want to get away from angry subscribers to save money?

It looks like the latter...........all the comments about people asking if they would get a refund have been taken off.......doubt thats a coisedense really.

Whoa, ADV really are imploding right about now. It's a shame really, because they were the company that release Evangelion :/
ADV had/have some great licenses. bad management is the only thing that comes to mind - that includes choosing crap stuff to release just for the sake of having loads of titles... :(

Well the bit they wrote on the site about news for subscribers has been pulled off the site in the past 2 days...........cuz i used to check the site everyday since they announced it was closing.

You can look at it like that or you can look at it as "It's no supprise, this is the same company that fails at releaseing Keroro Gunsou and Gurren Lagann"
