I've seen all of Ikki Tousen, even if GG sucked balls. I'm just a dedicated fan: I say I'd follow them, and so I did.
I'm a fan of ecchi, so I'm not upset about it. Maybe you're upset because it makes you feel pervy? Bah! I had a whole room of girls in my room numerous times, with every chance of a panty shot or cleaveage, but I respectfully turned my head. This proves I'm no pervert, but I have to have some sort of eye-candy.
I'm sure you understand that chatting and sharing gets you close to people, but unless you let some urges interest you, you'll never fall into love, cause you dont think they're sexy. Just friends.
I use (and I'm sure others do) ecchi to keep them urges alive but also in check. It's nothing sinful, it's natural, even if girls say "Omg, that's shallow..." Not really, you're just showing an interest in something sexy.
(Then again, when it gets rediculous like in some shows, it's just not attractive to most. That's just taste, I suppose.)
Bottom line: Dont be ashamed to be have an interest in sexual intentions. Obviously, dont do anything stupid like perv on everyone walking down the road, but checking people out is different on a moderated amount. Be a man. Be a sexy-smart man!! :wink:

I think I've always found a lot of ecchi stuff a bit silly, even slightly irritating in that way some models are happy to pose in teasing positions or semi-nude but always cover up certain areas of their anatomy. If you want to show some flesh, bloody well do it and stop beating around the bush (pun unintentional but with hindsight, quite funny) and that goes for artists and animators as well. Straight up Hentai strikes me as being more honest.
I'd say if anything I prefer non-ecchi shows and then fan authored H-doujins. It seems more like reality somehow in that you don't generally get tantilising glimpses of others' sexual sides during everyday life, it's something most people keep seperate. But everyone does have a sexual side so it doesn't feel out of character either. Some of the situations and dialogue in H-doujins though... Christ. Can't we just have a little reciprocated one-on-one guys?

It's not just you. I have no driving interest in real girls but my shelves contain Ikki Tousen, Eiken, Tenjou Tenge, F3 and plenty more. Masakazu Katsura series are also a favourite and they tend to be parades of panties and swimsuits at times. I guess I see them more as comedy than exciting in that way; still I keep collecting and watching them so they're doing something right.
I also collect scantily clad figurines because they look cool. Only nice ones though.

Its not hard to find some anime series with sex scenes in it, they just are never to the same extent as hentai. Think of it as, say a movie style sex scene, you never see too much, or you usually see the aftermath, in other words you are brought to believe said scene has happened. Thats generally the idea in non-ecchi/non-hentai anime.
As for myself, i'm kinda balanced with what i watch. I don't mind a bit of ecchi here and there, but there is still the odd series or two that is quite obviously over the top ecchi wise, and i tend to avoid them. I tried to watch ikki tousen at first, and left it after the first disk. I could see it working, but i just couldn't get into it. So i did try the manga as well, which i got much farther in, and i think i left it after hearing about the whole story edit thing. Never really been near the series since.

Heh. It does annoy me how chaste most anime relationships are and how facepalmingly ridiculous most porn scenarios are. That's why I've become fond of erotic manga like Dance Till Tomorrow and Sundome which don't neglect plot, characterization, and believeable dialogue.ayase said:

Plastic Little has a decent plot and gorgeous visuals, Aika has some really well animated fight scenes, and Golden Boy is effing hilarious. And it helps if the artists understand that, like everything else, breasts are subject to the laws of gravity (Ikki Tousen's balloon tits couldn't be any less sexy).
Paranoia Agent, Texnolyze, and Gun x Sword all have sex scenes.

I used to be like that when I first started watching anime. I'd download **** like Ichigo 100% and Shuffle and think they were good (lawl). I still go for an ecchi series now and again. but that's more for just watching something trashy. After all, I'm sure we all have times we just want to kick back and not have to think when watching anime (like coming back from a long day at work).
Now...I browse /e/. I also still enjoy Kekko Kamen and Golden Boy.

I don't mind ecchi in anime (let's face it, it's usually present in the vast majority somewhere), so long as it isn't so prominent it detracts from the story or atmosphere. Shows like Ikki Tousen where the focus is soley on ecchi don't do much for me though. To be blunt: if there's that much of it then you may aswell be watching porn.
