A friendly hello from Cambridge

Viral Sound

Completely Average High School Student
My name is Kyle, though on anime and manga sites I'll be using the moniker Viral Sound. I'm male, 22 years old and by trade I work as a trainee sound designer for a video game developer in Cambridge.

Anime and video games have inspired me to get to where I am today, and I am at a very happy place in my life because of it. I collect doujinshi through eBay (for the pretty pictures, I can't read or speak anything other than English) and in my spare time I'm an avid gaming, film and music technology geek. I sometimes venture down to London for conventions, the London MCM Expo being my most recent.

I've been watching anime since the old Manga Entertainment videos, since then I now like to buy whole films and series on DVD. A brief overview of what I've seen and like...
Akira
Appleseed (the original series and recent CGI films)
Card Captor Sakura
Digimon (the first two series, I couldn't finish any of the others)
Dark Blood Brothers
Dead Leaves
Death Note
Desert Punk
Ghost in the Shell (both films and Stand Alone Complex)
Heat Guy J
Jyu-Oh-Se
Lupin the Third
Naruto (and Shippuden, the only sub I have bothered to watch online seriously)
Ninja Scroll
Patlabor (the two films)
Pokémon (not touched for years though)
Roujin Z
Wind of Amnesia (I have the translated novel on order to read)

Regarding video games, my favourite series are...
Final Fantasy (7-10, planning on playing the most recent titles soon)
Illusion of Time/Gaia
Mega Man/Rock Man (the main and X series)
Metal Gear Solid
Metroid
Sonic the Hedgehog
Starwing/Star Fox

And films...
Alien 3 (and the rest of the series)
Casshern
Dogma
Sunshine
Toys
What Dreams May Come

I'll add more as I think of them, it's a pretty hefty list now as it is already. I look forward to posting on this forum in the future, though I can guarantee times when I'll disappear for a week or two due to work and other engagements. As a note, I do enjoy both the normal and adult sides of things and I have a very open mind to others, it's all about personality than anything else. Thanks for reading and I'll try my best to contribute something positive to the forum.

Welcome, Viral Sound.
Out of interest, could you give a few examples of titles you didn't enjoy? Much is expounded this way.
Haze (no disrespect to my co-workers who worked on it), Sonic and the Secret Rings and Sonic Unleashed are the most recent I've tried but didn't like. Haze went towards a trade-in for Metroid Prime Trilogy and the two Sonic games were through my LoveFilm subscription so I sent them back post-haste.

I know somebody with a LoveFilm subscription. I myself would have no need for one- titles I tend to take an interest in are usually either out of print or only available in Region 1.

Welcome to Aukn Viral. Great list you got there. Looks like you'll slot in nicely here. ^__^

I like that you named Alien 3 first too, legendary film. 8)

Though I listed the films alphabetically, Alien 3 would easily be in my favourite 5 films of my life. For something with a script half-written on the day of filming, it is one of the best horror sequels ever made.

Ah, Kyle you say, myself also, small world huh...

Anywho Howdy and welcome to the forums! Glad to see more people who like Lupin i will say, though admittedly i'm only just looking into it more as of recently than anything else, its just so damned enjoyable. One title that i do need to watch which got a mention there too is GitS 2: Innocence, since i've had that in my list of to watch shows(and on my DVD shelves) for quite some time, but never got round to it, so shall need to grab that from home and give it a watch.

Enjoy your time here anyways!
