A cat problem!

Well for the last week and a bit there has been this white cat hanging around outside my house and it won't go away - It has no collar and loads of people have said they don't know who it belongs to - it hangs around all day and meows at the door but we don't see it in the evenings but I don't know if that is because it finds somewhere to hide or if it goes home! Does anyone know anything about cats and if so do they do this sort of thing to get food or something? I'm just curious because Ive never seen it before ever!

yeh cats do that type of thing all the time, if they have a home or not...

if your looking to get rid of it, dont feed it. itll never go away seriously.

to be honest, youll not be able to tell if its wild or has a home, cats are greedy f*ckers with no loyalty lol theyll go to anyones home if it feeds them... my cat has been getting fat, i think its cheating on me

That's why;

a) cats are ****** pets
b) if you're looking to get either a cat or a dog, get a dog.
c) cats are assholes who piss off all day, then come back when they're hungry

Cats are like hamsters, they do f*** all.

thats really an unfair statement, cats can be very loving, any time i visit my mum her cat will always just curl up beside you and purr

and a dog is not always the best option, yes u get alot more reward for u care BUT not every1 has the time and attention that a dog requires. i LOVE dogs, i had a pedigree staffy for 14 years and it was the most loving friendly dog ever but it had to walked everyday sometimes twice, going on holiday was always a prob because he didnt like being on his own... its really all about how much u of ur time u want to invest in caring for something. cats are easy, and given the right one can be very loving to. not mine tho ¬_¬

Hmm...cats can disappear for hours on end (they could just be curled up asleep somewhere) so that's no real cause for concern.
I'd say ask around to see if it really is homeless - even if it's deserted its previous owners they'd be glad to know it's at least safe and sound. They're more like people than pets in terms of loyalty - to a certain degree they can't be 'owned' and are pretty much capable of looking after themselves. After all, turning up at someone's house and asking for food is easier than getting your own!

If you do decide to keep it, get it checked over at the vet's to make sure it's in good health and whether it needs neutering. Some cats have microchips fitted under their skin so if this is the case you should be able to find out about the owner.

Anyway, I think cats are great but yeah, if you give it food and somewhere to sleep that's an open invitation!

I think we might wait a few more days before deciding what to do as it looks ok to me! Yeah the vets is the first place I'd go to if I did keep it which would pretty cool as he(I think its a he as I saw what I thought would be a pair of cat balls. As you can tell I know next to nothing about cats) seems quite smart and when he did manage to get into the house (he waits constantly at the door or comes dashing in if you open the door)
he didn't get hairs all over the place so I might keep him - as hes smallish and white I've called him Dominator for the moment but I might get you guys to suggest names if i do keep it. Thanks for the advice though!

I know nothing about stripping cats of their sexual organs so I'm only guessing its a he!

Prince Mishkin - thats definately one I'll keep in mind!

Yeah i didnt see so much of him today - I want to keep him as this cat seems clever and kind of cool as I dont have the time to look after a dog!

I disagree, Cats are the best kind of animals ever... (plus my cats don't even bother going out)

And one of my cats follow me everywhere I go in the house...

And they do something, its calling... yearning for attention.

Sorry to sound fanboyish and acting like a idiot, but CATS FTW *shot*

CATGIRLS!!! FTW

Yeah - the whole thing has been solved - some crazy women who lives up the street (it also went to her house too, when not at mine!) has kept it and called it f***ing Noah!!! I was pissed off for 2 reasons - a) i wanted to keep the cat because it was a cool cat (it seemed to like vienetta) and b) she gave it a **** arse name!! (oh yeah whats the forum policy on swear words while im at it!)

CATGIRLS w00t!
On a second note... if ure gonna get a cat make it a house cat, they are so much better than ones that come in, get fed, piss off, dont come back till theyre hungry... lol.
