Do you know when they likely to release Gundam Seed Destiny?
The first volume and a first volume with artbox ships in the USA in March. Given that Seed wasn't released in Europe until the entire series was released on US DVD, Early 2007 isn't an unrealistic guess. Frankly, Destiny isn't worth that kind of a wait. Beez should focus instead on releasing good Gundam shows instead...

A Seed boxset would be nice too...

Beez has already confirmed Destiny as one of their 2006 titles (should be in an earlier news article on the site somewhere)- now admittedly this could mean anything up to around December 27th, but they do seem to be making a bit of an effort to release things more promptly in comparison to the US version; the R1 release of Mai HiME for example starts in March, and last I heard Beez were aiming to start it in May.

got all of these and i cant wait for the last vol of gundam seed :)

i though it would be have artbox or something to it but it looks like it wont.

i bet beez brings the seire out as full artboxes with the serie meaning you cant buy it unless you want to buy the whole seire again.... i hate it when they do that. they did it for cowboy bebop.

The boxes are kind of ugly.
Well they looked pretty nice to me when I saw them in the shop.
I guess the front cover artworks are kind of nice, but then, when they're on my shelf, the Spine is what's visible. Designers should put more time into designing DVD spines IMO. Just because it's the smallest part, they comb over it as if surface area = importance. The DVD spines are nasty, and the Boxset spines are identical and bland. They could have so easily put some nice, stylish art on the side and made the boxes more presentable. As it is, I can't work out which way to face the damned things. Both ways are ugly.

You mean the spines with the characters faces all in greyscale except Julia's? I thought that looked great.
I find nothing whatsoever pleasing about them. Why 2/6 faces are in colour, whilst the rest are in greyscale makes no sense. Why they insist on copy/pasting the same background to the spine 6 times makes no sense. Why the art is bland in the first place, makes no sense. It's eye catching to the extent that it catches my eyes and plays ping pong with them against the ugly tree for 5 straight hours. Beez: Must try harder. The majority of their spinework is even worse...

Well the reason why they are all in Greyscale except Julia(and somebody else on a DVD I obviously haven't seen) makes perfect sense to me really. They were probably basing it on this official picture. Julia being in colour and the rest in monochrome is probably meant to symbolise Spikes relationship with her. I think Beez have pretty decent spinework overall. You may not find them interesting but at least they don't look like bootlegs.

If you want to complain about ugly looking spines on DVD's just take a look at MVM's R.O.D the TV and Chobits spines. Now that's something to complain about. i actually thought they were bootlegs.

They don't look like Bootlegs, but they sure as hell look like purchases from the pound shop. And if they intended the colour thing in that official picture, it doesn't come across. Whoever is on the first volume spine is in colour as well IIRC.

And just try telling me that Beez's Gundam spines look above bootleg quality. Icky.

Well I have the first volume right here and Jet is in black and white...

I don't care about Gundam at all so i've never even bothered looking at them. :P

Heh, my memory is poor then. I'm possibly getting mixed up with the fact that I always thought it weird how the first disc has a picture of Faye on it, whereas all the rest of the discs don't have any artwork on them... and am I right in thinking that the same horridly multiplied picture on the spines is multipled on the backgrounds of the disks? Makes it even more annoying considering they could have spanned the picture over the spines to create a picture, rather than just having the same bland 2 cm space repeated again and again...

I'm not exactly sure what you mean... I'm only borrowing this first disk from a friend until Remix gets released in Austrailia so I don't know what the actual disks look like on other volumes.
