Japanese film website, Cinema Today, has posted a trailer for the 3D anime film Tofu Kozo, “Tofu Boy”.
The film is based on a novel written by Japanese mystery writer Natsuhiko Kyogoku and is a story about the young son of the leader of all Yokai, the eponymous Tofu Kozo (voiced by Kyoko Fukuda – Kamikaze Girls, Ring 2). He is a spirit who is so unthreatening (he carries a tray of tofu and wears a non-scary traditional costume) he cannot scare humans. Constantly scolded by his father and made fun of, Tofu Kozo embarks on a journey to find his mother and ultimately grow through various adventures he has on the way.
The film is set to be released by Warner Brothers Japan on April 29th. Here’s the trailer:

I assume all of those "Tofu Kozu"s and "Tofu Kuzo" are supposed to be "Tofu Kozo"?

Well I was hoping to repair any bad spelling in a discreet manner but you've blown my cover... Now excuse me while I make like Sam Fisher and flee into the shadows... "Dashes away"

I have indeed, and the anime of Mouryou no Hako made my top 10 of the decade list. Absolutely one of my favorite horror/youkai/mystery/detective related writers.

I haven't read Loups-Garous, though, which is I think his only other one available in English.

I sought out the anime last year, couldn't find it and totally forgot about it. Thanks for reminding me.
