So with a number of new series hitting the fansub circuit these past few weeks, what have been your favourites so far? Post up some comments and mini-reviews!

I'm sad to say I haven't got around to seeing anything new yet and nothing I've seen art-wise has really filled me with much enthusiasm.

I've heard that "Kamichu!" is good (from the team behind RoD TV) and Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid should be worth checking out too.

Of the spring season, Honey & Clover was my favourite (awesome coming-of-age drama), swiftly followed by Basilisk (bloody ninjas)- nothing else really caught my eye. I'm tempted to get back into watching Bleach, some of the screen grabs I've seen look quite action-packed, bloody and exciting :)

Edit: D'oh, just realized I'd put 2006 in the topic title :)

Got to say there's a whole load I'm interested in. Gun x Sword the most, followed by Boku wa Imouto ni Koi wo Suru (yes, I know it's "iffy" subject wise!), and Suzuka. There are some other I might dabble in, but I don't seem to be able to find the time for too many fansubs these days :(

The only ones I know I'll be investigating are FMP: The Second Raid and now Gun X Sword, but who knows what else I'll end up downloading. Anything by the makers of ROD TV will get my attention, so I'll have to try Kamichu!, but it seems, as always, I'll blunder my way through series until I find the ones I really like and then carry on watching them.

This seasons anime has a bit too much of the harem genre for my liking!
I would have liked to see FMP - 2nd series but I haven't watched the original so there's no point. I'll miss out on all the references. The only ones I have watched so far are:

Tide-Line Blue (Average, action/drama series) - Predictable! which was okay but nothing spectacular to hit home about. I'll keep watching to see if it gets any better.

Kamichu! (Ghibli-esque) - Great animation but everything was too slow and Ghibli like. The main character just cries out Chihiro to me, bad choice! ;) *Avoids*

Everything else - was harem or didn't interest me.

Best of Last Season (Spring)

Gokujou Seitokai (All girls school comedy) - Brilliant, funny and has all the charm of an elite school council! :p Probably best described as something like Azumanga Daioh.

Glass Mask (Shoujo drama) - The best shoujo drama I have seen in a few years. Predictable story ala Aim For The Ace! But throughly enjoyable. :)

Didn't like Honey & Clover - but I'm sure it would be excellent to other people! :D

Would be nice if someone could post a master list of whats airing this season. Nothing of whats listed appeals to me (other than Gokojou Seitokai and Glass Mask from the previous season which I've enjoyed what I have seen of.).

I dont have much interest in the new FMP or Kamichu! , and the rest thats appeared so far (as neptune2venus) , says is all harem crap.

I'm cautiously optimistic about FMP: Second Raid, as I'm hoping it will be more like what I was expecting when I watched the original, but for some reason I've lost most of my enthusiasm for it.

Having only recently been dragged into this 'dark world', I've only seen the first episodes of each of Gokujou Seitokai and Glass Mask (anyone seeing a pattern here :p ) which I quite liked and Honey and Clover, which was one of those 'instant appeal' shows for me.

Ive checked out the majority of the new series this year, probably my favourite being Zettai Shonen at the moment, its great and I reccomend everyone to watch it, Tide-Line Blue was quite nice, I usually like Bandais stuff ever since Digimon when I was a kid so I'll stick with it. Gun X Sword was pretty damn awesome, ive just started watching Bleach again after quitting after a few episodes and am really enjoying it, but im so behind on Speed Grapher, I defintely have to catch up on that one.

I've watched the first episode of Kamichu (i had to download it again by another fansubber as the first time it had no subtitles, confused me a great deal).
For some reason it is very Ghibli like to me also, infact i thought that before i had even watched the first episode, just by a picture i saw, and for some reason it seems very film like to me.
I did enjoy the first episode alot, it was a little strange, but something i would like to watch more of, and hopefully there will be a fansubber with episodes smaller than 300MB file size

I watched the first two episodes of "TIDE-LINE Blue" last night. Outstanding animation quality, Ghibli-esqe character designs and an interesting story; very similiar to Last Exile, but it involved sea-travel rather than Vanships. It looks like developing into a fun, heart wrenching adventure and I can't wait to watch more.

The first episode was especially oustanding, including an especially painful child birth scene.
TIDE-LINE Blue is for keepers.

Next up on my hit list is Kamichu!, Full Metal Panic and Gun X Sword... Can't wait to get stuck into some new anime.

Still have yet to find a full run list for this season (which is odd as they are usually everywhere), although admitedly nothing catches my eye at present.

I have to admit was underwhelmed by the first episode of Gun X Sword. The presentation was stylish and attractive, but the story felt empty, lacking passion. It comes off as blatent mixture of Bebop and Trigun and hence is as generic as they come, but my faith in the creative staff involved and the pretty animation should see me hang around for a few more episodes.
