13th June UK anime releases

Odd, it used to be listed as the a "Korean Anime of the Year" edition, come to think of it the artboxes do look different maybe they've subbed them out for the cheaper chinese versions.

Generally the chinese ones have lots of spelling errors, mistimed lines, and often are completely unreadable altogether. Often image quality isn't that great compared to an official release either.

Trust me, you're better off buying the official stuff. Generally, the price difference just isn't worth it.

Suprised no-one has pointed out that they're also Region 3. Or does everyone have Region Free DVD players around here?

I'm personally waiting for them to get round to R2 Seed boxsets. Though I do hope they don't go down the Wing route of making 5 "box-set" volumes. I believe I read that France has Wing split into two box-sets (a la Escaflowne, which was awesomely affordable).

As for a general outlook on what Gundam we'll get in Europe, I reckon that Beez will eventually be pushed to release all the old OVAs and Movies, and the upcoming Zeta movies along with that. Can't see them releasing the full 80s Series mind you (MSG, Zeta, ZZ, V)... and I think we'll see the Turn-A Movies rather than the actual series. Then again, they still haven't released that in the US even...

oh well, i just thought you guys would be interested in the seed dvd's
they are of good valu as well.

oh well just trying to help, since there are many peeps here wanting to get the seed dvd's.

Well, thing is, most people would rather get the UK dvds than the chinese release. Add to the fact the chinese release has subtitle problems, some skipped next ep previews and of course a lack of English/French/German dubs and the R3s dont look quite so good anymore.

Well they've already announced the UC movies so thats the 0079 Trilogy, Millars Report, Last Blitz Of Zeon, Chars Counter Attack and F91. If they do well they will probably release the 3 UC OVA's.

If SEED does well the Special Edition and Destiny are sure to follow but given that Zeta hasnt done well in the states they probably wont take the risk on it, granted they could fix the problems the R1 release had and make money from people in the US buying a better version than the R1 but thy still probably wouldnt take the risk unless Last Blitz sells well to people in the US which is possible given there is no R1 version. The original TV series in unlikely too given they'll have already released the movies and series didnt do too well due to the lack of the Japanese audio track.

G Gundam could do very well in the UK given the ammount of popular fighting/tournament anime but god only knows if they will release it.

As for stuff that hasn't been released in the US they're unlikley to go ahead and release any more titles that havent had R1 releases but id agree that ZZ and V are unlikley. I cant see Turn A being released in any form in the US any time soon, they'll probably leave it till last, although I'd say GX will be released in the US soon enough and that may follow over here aagain it depends on the sales of pervious titles.

The MAHQ review rates it as highly as G-Saviour. It would seem that only a maniac completist would go and buy it... I'll probably avoid it myself and F91 doesn't sound all that interesting either :/

I liked it personally, it is just a recap of the OVA but it has 5 minutes extra footage and as ive said before i like compilation movies because they are much easier to watch than rewatch the whole series
