I'm surprised no one has reported the packaging defect of Minus One UHD LE. The artwork is folded incorrectly on the cardboard box, resulting in ugly discontinuities at the top and bottom surfaces.
Thank you really much for checking @BrokenPhoenix !
The french translator said he translated everything including every signs. So AL really did butcher the french script for no reason...
Could you please check if the eye catches and signs are properly subtitles anytime they appear concurrently to dialogue? The french subtitles [also on the discs] are confirmed to lack all of them. Episode 1 should have plenty of such instance.
Well, that's some really dishonest sales practices at best, not really a defect. My questions on Yohane and TWBW are to find out who is responsible for butchering the subtitles scripts that badly on all french discs. AL France essentially is blaming Com'On Screen for being unable to author...
Then is it also the case for Bleach: Thousand Year Blood Wars? That's another shared author and the french subtitles are all messed up and lacks all signs.
Including styling and signs displayed concurrently to dialogue? That would be a first for Com'on Screen... or they did not author the disc, contrary to what the french credits claims.
lmao, and that's at a £58 SRP. When are people gonna complain and stop buying titles where they put zero effort?
To add insult to the injury, I bet they also stripped all of the CR typesetting and signs in the process. Price should reflect the fact they cheap out on production, it doesn't.
TL;DR You can't, bitmap subtitles are fit to the video.
If you use a software player like mpv you could zoom-in on the subtitle plane, but signs and typesetting could be misaligned or even out of the sceen. It's just a botchered author, and no one quality checked the discs as usual. Macross...
VLC has issues with chroma upscaling and may not use the right transfer matrix; it does not represent accurately the ViZ encode.
On a related note, whoever authored Macross Plus and Naruro used some of the most hideous font and outline I've seen for subtitles in the recent years. Those sharp...
@Hanners Never heard back on the french authoring issues. And we got one more trash release this month: Fate Stay Night HF1 with incorrect gamma and gross encoding.
When will this end? This has been going on for years. Are the french customers a joke to you? Furthermore there has never been a...
If people actually had some respect for themselves and actually stopped pre-ordering evidently flawed sets this would not happen and they would be forced to fix things.
A company needs money to run. No costumer = no money = questionning ****** strategy.
People need to realise that AL is a...
Thank you.
It's funny, because the french side say they have no control over the authoring nor production of discs and tell us that everything is handled in the UK. Then I can only assume someone at AL is very dishonest and will lie to customers to not fix their mess.
Would you be kind enough to ask why they never reauthor faulty french discs, while they do for the UK? Our release of Gunbuster still defective with missing subtitles. And this is just one case out of numerous...
No excuse, competitors also release books with a lot of textual contents, some are indeed plagued by lackluster QC, others can be absolutely fine. If you ask a premium price, you proof read it.
Also I am asking again @andrew_anime, what about the french boxset of gunbuster? Are we getting new...
Easy: do not do any QC whatsoever.
One or two months ago I tried to raise awareness about the french branch giving up on any form of QC and the products being all defective in one way or another. This could very well be an internal AL "global" decision, and the results are only showing up now...
