The third Patlabor movie is distinctly fine. For me, it smacks of "we really wanted Oshii to direct this one as well, but he couldn't, so we got someone else to try their best to emulate his style and sense of atmosphere" and the result is, in my opinion, a fairly plodding and kinda boring...

There are exceptions (and probably a lot more of them these days), but the general rule of thumb was that films got a standard edition at or close to the launch of the CE, while TV shows waited until the CE was sold out before working on a standard. You hopefully won't have to wait too long if...

It's not that lavish. I has a decent sized booklet, and extra cases, for some reason. Aside from that, it's on par with their other releases. As such, I would prefer to be priced similar to releases of other recent two-cour shows, like Shirobako and Parasyte.
