UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

Outlaw Star is one of my all-time favourites, and from what I've seen the JP Blu-ray transfer is spectacular. This has my interest, although I will await the price and specs.

Akira returns to UK Cinema for Manga UK’s 25th Anniversary this September

Going to the cinema solo is so liberating. After all, everyone is just sitting silent (hopefully) in a dark room watching something, there's no social element to it. I started doing it this year when I got my unlimited card. I'm going to this Akira screening on my own after work.

Akira returns to UK Cinema for Manga UK’s 25th Anniversary this September

Oh sweet, it's showing at my local Cineworld. Gonna make use of my unlimited card here! I kinda want them to show the old Streamline dub. No-one screams 'TETSUUUUUUOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!' better than Cam Clarke.

    Re:Zero #1Review

Re:Zero has become one of my favourite series of 2016, so it's good to see have the light novels coming over also. Finished this first volume last week, they're very good for passing time on my commute.

The News Thread (for news that does not need a thread)

Willem Dafoe is playing Ryuk the Shinigami in Netflix's live action Death Note. You know what? That's actually really good casting. While I have no idea how the project will turn out as whole, I do know that Adam Wingard is a great director (seriously, go watch The Guest right now), so I'm...

UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

Fair do's, I'll keep an eye and see what the final proposition looks like. My rule of thumb is generally £24.99-29.99 for a standard 12-13 ep Blu-ray and £34.99-44.99 for a CE 12-13 ep Blu-ray, with anything above that considered case by case. This mostly covers 90% of releases at current UK...

UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

A one part release naturally :P The recent Universal releases pretty much represent my ideal for a 1-cour CE In all seriousness, if we're talking a two part restriction on a one cour series, something akin to SAO2 would work for me. If my understanding is correct, when you take out the OST...

UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

Hmmm, Erased was one of the best series I've seen in recent times, and I was happy when AL got the licence, but a two-part release with KLK CE prices makes me think twice. I've become much stricter with what I get on BD lately, especially with anime as it's comparatively more expensive than...

UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

A quick look at my Facebook's 'On this day' feed tells me that it's been three years to the day since the Anime Limited's first release, the first part of Cowboy Bebop on BD! Here's to many more. I do hope we get more 80s/90s catalogue stuff from AL in the future.

[Overseas] The Anime Expo 2016 Thread

Huh, how bizarre! Kabaneri streams exclusively on Amazon Prime and yet Crunchyroll dubs and releases it on home video? I didn't see that coming.

UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

Out of curiosity Andrew, is there any particular reason that you're using steel packs for Empire of Corpses and not Steelbooks? Is it just the case that non-Scanavo ones are less expensive to produce?

I'd completely forgotten about Tokyo Mirage Sessions until I got the dispatch email. I unplugged my Wii U after beating Xenoblade X, will plug it back in eventually. I need a laugh tonight, so might watch Aldnoah Zero now. I hope English Inaho is as hilarious as Japanese Inaho.

    Currency vs Brexit: GBP Losses

Ugh, everything just feels hopeless now. Never felt so disconnected from my country. Can feel the miserable mood down here in London. I don't know what's more depressing, the prospect of a Boris/Gove dream team as PM/Chancellor or the imminent Labour no-confidence civil war. I'd like to think...

The News Thread (for news that does not need a thread)

Good to see UQ Holder get an anime. The manga is mostly very good, though it hasn't quite hit the heights its predecessor did at its peak. Negima is right up there as one of the best shounen action manga I have read (until the awful ending). Always thought it was a shame that it never got the...
