The Anime/Manga I Bought Today Was...

Wanting to try out Tokyo Underground I won the first DVD for a pound ^__^ I don't mind buying cheap thinpaks or boxsets, but sometimes you get it home and think "I know it was ony £22.99 but that was £22.98 too much" So if I don't like it, it don't matter - not for a pound!!

    Trigun, Your views

That's what makes it so enjoyable. If it just been a serious anime about Vash searching for Knives, I don't think I would have enjoyed it so much. If it had been longer than 26 episodes (or is it 25?!!), there would have been far more scope for further character profiling, which is why on the...

    Trigun, Your views

Since when did anime follow the manga? (With very few exceptions of course!). Of course people have different views on character profiling and how good/bad it was, but personally I found there was plenty where it mattered (Millie & Merle, Wolfwood etc) and as the story progressed, there...

    Trigun, Your views

I think you'll find that's called storyline! Like a lot of anime that is more than 13 episodes long, the beginning is always lightweight to introduce the characters and setting and then the story itself can progress to where it needs to be. In the case of Trigun, the tradegy IS the story!

    What Games Are You Playing?

I have to stop myself from starting again as soon as I've finished! The only thing that puts me off playing the original OoT again is the Shadow Temple  I loved Master Quest because the Shadow Temple wasn't the least be scary, but the normal version scares me witless even now :( I'm...

Tokyopop plan to reprint Clover and Sailor Moon manga

With luck they might release it properly this time. The most disappointing element of the Sailor Moon manga are the names, as it's exactly the same as the English language dub and it riles me every time I read them. It would be nice for Usagi and Mamoru to have their proper names and not Serena...

    What Games Are You Playing?

I'm totally addicted to Legend of Zelda games at the moment (or rather Ocarina of Time ^__^). I've played it through twice on the N64 and the Master Quest on NGC (in about 3 months). I've also played Wind Waker, plus I'm on a second file of WW, as I want to try and complete some more of the side...

    Macross? Robotech? I need guidance!

I've just finished watching all 85 episodes of Robotech. Of course it's the extremely cheesy Harmony Gold version, but the dubbing is actually pretty good. The first season (The Macross Saga) is really entertaining and should appeal to the romantics out there. Season 2 (The Robotech Masters) is...

    Trigun, Your views

I love Trigun! It's one of those anime where I can quite happily watch the dub and the sub, as both are exceptionally good. I rewatched it just a few weeks ago actually (dubbed) and to be honest if you are having difficulties following the plot, I would recommend the dub, it makes it easier to...

    On the lookout for Anime

I've watched all of Tsukikage Ran and it's actually really good. What's so good about it is the main protagonist is a female ^__^ It's not often you get to watch an anime with a female samurai who's almost as good as Kenshin (but of course we're talking comedy, rather than drama). It's one of...

    CardCaptor Sakura

United Publications has the first season in a special boxset that has recently been released, it's about £65. The second season is due out next week (they'll get that in too, same price). They are the uncut original versions, but as with Sailor Moon for the first 89 episodes, it's subbed only...

    CardCaptor Sakura

That was Kero's Corner  Are you talking about the dub or the original version? as he was really cute in the proper Japanese version and his seiyuu is Aya Hisakawa who does Sailor Mercury ^_^

The Anime/Manga I Bought Today Was...

I received another part of my UP1 order yesterday (still have around 8 mangas on order that all should have come out 1 month ago). I can finally watch E's Otherwise vol 4; that was the only DVD in there, the rest were mangas: Doubt! vol 5. Ceres vol 13 (final volume. I can't believe there will...

    Paradise Kiss anime!

He was obviously at his mothers home - she looked pretty cool, dontcha think?! One of the other things I love about Parakiss, is it doesn't portray "older" people as obsolete hasbeens

Kare Kano (His & Her Circumstances)

I think I started reading this manga about a year ago when I found out the reasons for the naff ending to the anime and like a lot of people, decided to find out how it should REALLY end! I have to say that for about the first 8 volumes, the anime and manga storyline doesn't alter much, but...

What manga are you reading now?

I just finished reading Shinobu Kokoro (Hidden Heart). Talk about an excuse for gratuitous yaoi sex  I'm not sure whether the fact the main character (Subaru) looked about 13/14 worried me more than it should; it was like yaoi lolita style! Luckily the story doesn't concentrate on him and...

    Ask our reporter in Japan!

I knew there was a reason they didn't ship overseas! I'll dig out my magazines later and put some of the web addresses here. There is one really big cosplay site that does ship overseas, but it's long since been deleted from my computer. @Melainy: if you're after wigs, try America. There...
