I'm personally a fan of DVD's if only for the fact they are cheaper and more common. Saying that my personal views and my pragmatism aren't in agreement. If the market as a whole is buying Blu-Ray at large then I can't say I'm surprised at MVM's move. Blu-Ray has been on the rise for a few years...
I'll second this and add Samurai Champloo, Angel Links (if you can find it) and Gangsta (a bit short due to the company going under, but what we have is pretty good if you can get it for 20 quid or less).
Half way through Gangsta. Pretty watchable little anime. Good story with likeable characters. Wouldn't class it as groundbreaking, but there are enough unique elements to keep if different. It's a very human anime, but there is a twist. Has a Fullmetal Alchemy feel to it, in a good way.
Really should have done this at the beginning
Mech/Space Mech:- Bubblegum Crisis/Macross Plus for Beginners. As old as they may be they are to of the most Architypal of their Genre. For Vets Try Daiguard, Gundam series or Gunbuster. These anime add a certain Nuanse to the genre.

Also think of looking to Crunchy Roll for some free anime. It is a very ready source for those looking to bugdet and (re)find...
Just a random question but can you request anime from the following genre for a veteran anime viewer who knows something about anime and is looking for something outside the box and anime for those new to anime and are maybe unsure of themselves and what they like.
The genre's (for reference...

Now it’s been reported that Nishiwaki has been officially...
Anime Merchandise more so than anime then. Thank you for posting as it'll certainly come in handy. Forbidden Planet International would be an equivalent over here as while it isn't exclusively anime it does do anime merchandise and manga, but no longer stocks dvd's (used to do some older and...
As a non-Australian I agree with Sanity. While on holiday I bought Karin out of one their outlets near Narre Warren and the girl behind the counter was very pleasent. Also checked the website and they are game to ship abroad. Anime DVD & Blu Ray | Sanity Online

Thank you for the link to blu-ray.com in your footer. Gonna set up a list to compliment MAL.
back you your collection, 400? I'd be looking for career leave to get through the half of it :p
Just take your time and enjoy everything first before moving on. Don't make the mistake of creating a large 'to watch list' or over endulging. Enjoy everything as it comes. :)
I was, but I'm also looking into hackable ones. I noticed the toshiba one, but I'm not keen on buying a firmware disc. If there ones that are more readily hackable, such as a phillips (I've a phillips DVD that's done me well), I'd be on it like a rash.
Also £150 isn't too bad but anything under...
You know of any affordable Region Free BluRays or any means of factory reseting one?
