Guys you may want to check this out fully before assuming the worse, according on ANN, AoD and Dentsu themselves Geneon is stopping production and marketing to focus on its license portfolio, this has been the plan for months before the ADV deal (in fact it was the reason for the deal) its...
Kyon's order is the broadcast order.
Just watched the first few eps of the original Raideen, so cheesy and kinda dumb but alot of run, it's interesting to see where RahXephon and the Reideen got their ideas from

Re: New Licenses: Haruhi; Cyborg 009-1; Ayakashi; FF-VII
009-1 isn't anything to do with Cyborg 009, it is based on another Shotaro Ishinomori manga with an admittly very similar name but the story isn't linked
ANN made the same mistake when the show was first announced...
A gril who likes mecha that is :P Beyond the Clouds aka The Place Promised In Our Early Days, also by Makoto Shinkai, is similar and without the mecha and works better with girls
They have aload of it in stock atm, mostly volumes in the teens though, but from what ive heard once you know the backround you can pretty much read any of the volumes without reading the others
Submarine 707R dates back to 2003 and Gonzo wasnt involved, its only show about Submarines was Blue Sub 6 iirc. Its a pretty good OVA but it's incomplete with the second ep ending with "to be continued"
But the characterization is very much like manga, the thing is the manga in alot of ways is like Kon's work to begin with thats why it seems so much like his other work, he has also said himself in the past that he was greatly influenced by Otomo.
Ordered Gungrave vol.4 in the Play sale and I finally got Gundam Char's Counter Attack and F91 yesterday. Also managed to pick up the 2 disk R4 Special Edition of Steamboy in my local Tower Records, I love being able to get cheap R4 anime locally :D
Well to be fair he only wrote the screenplay and even that is a very direct adaptaion of the Magnetic Rose manga from Memories part 1 so it more a work of Katsuhiro Otomo, who wrote and drew the original story, than Satoshi Kon.
But other than that Memories it well worth getting.
