Opinions on Tweeny Witches (Mahou Shoujo Tai)?

I decided to begin this series due to reading about it on recent anime blog Star Crossed, where the style of animation - somewhat retro but as beautiful as any of today - caught my eye. So far I've seen the first ten episodes, and I'm impressed; the series builds an interesting plot as it moves...

What manga are you reading now?

As a change from something light, this weekend I settled down and read the first two volumes of the famous (or infamous) Battle Royale, and I'm amazed by how compelled I now feel to read more. Moreso than the film, the manga shows glances into the minds and pasts of people now forced to kill or...

    Movie recommendations

I can only second the Kon and Voices/Place Promised Recommendations, as well as Ghibli's Grave of the Fireflies, which, let me assure you, is far from whimiscal, light Miyazaki.

Just glancing, this site shows volumes up to 18 in english, but completely out of stock. http://www.milehighcomics.com/cgi-bin/b ... &snumber=1

Gundam Seed Destiny does an Evangelion.

Well, if you're refering to the series in general, Mwu comes back to life, miraculously surviving Seed; Meer, Dullindal, Ray, Talia, Jibril, Stellar, Auel, Sting all die, and i'm sure there are a few others I can't remember, none of them being characters from Seed.

    Most anticipated January UK release?

I suppose you're right. Again. Damn. Although, to be fair, my trust of any of those reviews ended with the Texhnolyze travesty.

    Most anticipated January UK release?

Hmm, I wouldn't mention the series as underrated considering 90% of reviews for it are overwhelming postive, and almost half of people who have rated it on ANN give it a "masterpiece" rating. Underwatched, perhaps. All the titles that interest me in the poll - WHR, ROD, Haibane, FMA...

Gundam Seed Destiny does an Evangelion.

The Final Phase Plus Plus is perfect. :D Ah, Athrun, the less screentime he has the larger his harem grows. I disliked the way Cagalli was scorned in the latter part of Destiny; sure, her popularity may have gone down to how she acted at first, but, like Athrun, she turned from one of the...

Which manga would you most like to see made into an anime?

To be honest, I'd only watch this series if Shirt Guy Dom was nowhere in sight for the whole anime. ;) I also tend to prefer the Piro-based, more romantic centred aspects of Megatokyo to the Largo lack-of-sanity. If it was ever turned into an anime, unlikely as it may seem, structuring seems...

Gundam Seed Destiny does an Evangelion.

Well, here's the news we've all been waiting for with anticipation as eagar as the Pacific is shallow. It seems there are no details so far, though, so that might mean Fukada has been cut down, but considering how finnancially sucessful his reign has been in Japan, I doubt the powers that be...

Gundam Seed Destiny does an Evangelion.

I didn't realise so much had been changed; reading about it a few days ago, I gathered that was just the same with a drawn-out conclusion. I'm just glad there is the faint possibility of a slightly better ending than "Kira PWNS ALL because Kira SELLS." I'm disappointed greatly in Fukada; I...

Spirited Away & Ghibli: overrated rubbish?

True on the first count, although to keep it going for so long, Neptune has to be talented; on the second. In fact, did you know that all profits from non-Miyazaki Ghibli have been spent on creating Victory Gundams for the renegade army of Miyazaki-Spielberg? Apparently Tomino has...

Spirited Away & Ghibli: overrated rubbish?

I'm enjoying reading this topic too much; this may sound rather offensive, but it seems akin to watching Neptune2venus fishing and everyone else taking the bait, and then dangling from her rod as she directs it where she wants it to. Neptune the puppetmaster, if you will. ;) Thus, I am going...

    Suzuka

ChibiYosho forced me to, errr, recommended this series to me when it was up to about episode sixteen, and since then I haven't been able to stop watching it. The characters are so very well-written and interesting, and are realistic to the point that you often have to put yourself into their...

    im so embarrased!

Berserk, Berserk and Berserk, with a further glass of Berserk to wash it all down... The series isn't that expensive; boxsets can be purchased from about the price of a thinpack, and I can't say I've met anyone who has seen Berserk and not treasured it. It'll have all the gore and the action...

    Neon Genesis Evangelion?

I do not love Evangelion to the extent of declaring it one of my favourite series, but I enjoy it. *stops self from going into Rant Mode*

Which series are you most looking forward to in 2006?

The usual sort of things; I'll be buying all the series I've enjoyed on fansub or have caught my interest on Region 1, the oft-mentioned Mai-Hime being one that invokes special promise in me due to the show's cunning way of making anyone become a type of fanboy. Oddly, a lot of future anime...

    Club-to-Death Angel Dokuro-Chan: A recomendation

I agree; it's hard to compare it to FLCL beyond a sense of the absurd. I found the first gag of the four/eight episode series unexplicably funny, as poor Sakura lost his head for the first of many times, but after that, despite some highlights, it seemed rather samey, and shock value was clearly...

Which manga would you most like to see made into an anime?

I'd agree with all of the series mentioned, and would also motion for a second series of Beck, Honey and Clover and X, among others. I don't know how well Death Note would work as an anime. It's extremely pensive, yes, and many anime are, but it lacks the visual style that marks out many...

    Club-to-Death Angel Dokuro-Chan: A recomendation

I've just watched the first two chapters, and it was certainly an odd experience, somewhere between Animal Yokocho and early Elfen Lied, although lacking the depth and plot of the latter. I enjoyed it, despite the perverse brands of humour used for shock value, and I agree that the first...
