I'm in a similar situation to Lukas, I bought a whole bunch of bootlegs when I was first getting into anime, a few years back. At that time, I didn't even know what a bootleg was, I just assumed that anime naturally came like that. After all, ebay was supposed to be a place to get bargains...

Well, it is a lot more than it used to, certainly. Err, y'know, it's not really about sides. It's possible to criticise without actively supporting something, and, more relevantly, saying something like, "Dude, you're overreacting" could just be friendly advice.

Ah, was thinking of a different one, but thanks for the link. The one I saw counted characters like Naru and Ayu as childhood friends, so I guess that made a difference. Tsundere's would probably be a pain in real life, but they tend to make fun characters to watch, imo. Not as funny as...

So, I recently picked this up based on the ANN rating, that and the fact that I tend to like slice-of-life stuff and it was only 1 volume anyway. I wasn't disappointed. Being very much a slice-of-life story there can't be said to be a plot as such - it shows some brief glimpses into the lives...

Eh, he's not a bad character, but with two characters I nominated against him I wasn't going to be voting for him any time soon. Plus, while he was cool, I always preferred Akito. Oh, there's always one >_<

I remember some anime blog a while ago actually went and did a survey on this. Turns out that it's a safe bet that the childhood friend will win. Personally, I'm never too bothered, as long as the build-up to it is good.

Hmm, I was wondering what they were going to try, and simultaneous distribution is certainly impressive - if it wasn't blu-ray I'd probably go for it. As things are, at the moment there's no way I can justify buying something capable of playing blu-ray.

Two characters I nominated in the same battle? Doh. My vote goes to Satou. An especially blackly comedic, hilarious yet tragic character, he stands out in a series full of insanity. Yeah, I remember someone saying to make it shorter next time ^^;

Ahh, ok then. Oh well. Thanks for explaining that. Well, it's the idea that there should be competition in capitalism to stop the companies doing what the hell they want. Honestly though I think it's hard enough trying to sell anime anyway, even without competition.
