If you're one of those huge FF7 fans you'll like it, otherwise it's nothing special. Story's more satisfying than Advent Children, it has to be said, but like Advent Children it seems like a cash-in rather than an attempt to tell a decent story within a franchise.

It's probably treated so seriously because first, it involves a child, and secondly there is no counterpart to the view of the three potential suicides. In most other shows or films, suicide scenes are usually treated more seriously, or if light-hearted, there is a counterpoint to it to convey...

What is the best manga that you have read that doesn't involve much comic relief, you know the traditional devices, bug-eyed reactions and super-deformed moments... Basically I'm looking for something a little more serious and uncompromising.

The third is out now and I'm lost. What the hell is going on? The statues are moving and talking. The city seems to be sealed and floating in the sky? The weird occurence of a 'pet-type' autorave jars a little against the style of the rest of the show, especially in that fox ear outfit...
