Taking a quick glance I initially missed The Apothecary Diaries Complete Season 2 being there among all the steelbooks which are primarily just rereleases.
I'm sure that will get a UK release which I will definitely buy. It's nice it's in one set instead of two parts too and I'm very glad it has a non-steelbook version.

I cannot remember why I imported it at £45 years ago. What attracted me to it? Who knows.
Ended up really enjoying it. Bit of comedy with a sweet relationship between the characters and some busty fanservice from Lucoa.

Maybe Crunchyroll will release it in one set in the UK; maybe not. While I personally like the single sets per season, I also already have the above so would be unlikely to buy it again just to have it in one piece.
At this point with those US announcements, probably the steelbooks are more likely to come to the UK.

Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust (though using the Japanese title here where there is no Bloodlust subtitle) will be released in theatres and Home Video by GKIDS in North America. There is a recently released remastered version of the film that has been released in Japan and some film festivals in the past year or so. Seems pretty likely to me this end up with Anime Limited in due course.

Much as I love Bloodlust, it already has a good Blu-ray release. What we really need is the 80s OAV with the 90s dub; that's been missing from all Blu-ray releases to date.
I'm only likely to double dip on Bloodlust if it gets a lavish edition with a large format art book and the soundtrack CD.

Resident Kawajiri fan-man/person 'ere: whilst the release Anime Limited did was good to own, 'twas not truly a good transfer, for at the time all that was available was a DVD upscale. It looked better than most but a far cry from, say, Ninja Scroll celporn. Also had some audio issues that carried over from DVD (dub voices low iirc?).
The newer JP release is a fresh film scan jobber; fully HD 'n all that jizzjazz. Fans were calling for it for a wee while. Initially thought it got caught in the cel/digi switchover - like many an early to mid 2000s anime - but apparently not. Much more vivid cel clarity, I can confirm: tested when received my JP copy. Yet to watch in full, however. Despite buying twice. 'F' forever betrays meeee...
...'tis however a good point regarding ze original OVAfilm. That needs a UK blu-ray, at the very least. It being not of the same director (and nowhere near as good, intro grass scene aside) left it separate in my mind. Be nice have CE both. Not up on the missing dub lore given mein obsession extends only Kawajiri and his prioritising English dubs over JP, even in his homeland.
PS: Kawajiri is overseeing the 4k version of Ninja Scroll, recall being posted awhile back. Think that's due a 4k theatrical run this year, then physical release 2027. Be neato if both around same time... not that I go to the cinema, mind. And I may not endure to the distant, possibly dystopian future of '27. Such is life~

Can see how much the brightness raised despite it being murky, in the second comparison video during the cemetery/zombie part. Never noticed before.
I remain somewhat confuse by how this remaster came to be (ie yyy the DVD upscale on blu-ray originally if it wasn't animated in 480/720p, as initially assumed), given the cels weren't individually scanned. Maybe a case of the Japanese not caring as much about Kawajiri as the rest of the world. But I'll take it: was worth importing early. Twice. Maybe.
Typing of, rewatched over half of the movie with my loyal kyoudai, after he
. The tltr is, it looks amazing. It doesn't really hit you in the darker scenes initially just how stark the difference is, besides the clarity--the first noteworthy scene being in the dilapidated church. But the later daylight scenes, and especially the scenes with Layla/how vibrant her red outfit is now, are eye-openers. Night & day; literally and figuratively. Seems strange to be praising daylight in a film about vampires but it was so...subdued in contrast before that it catches the eye. Oh, and Dai: the JP release came with the soundtrack. So if AL ever release it remastered, should come with. The real ??? is the Japanese audio/subs. The remastered JP import is the first release owned with JP audio. Even that has the dub as the default language, allah Highlander. And ofc no sub.
Edit: Have been informed the Gkids release will have JP audio/subbed. Yay?
