What manga are you reading now?

So I’m a Spider, So What? v2-v16: Well, that was fun and full of surprises and crazy battles. From about volume 6 on, the story goes back ten years and recounts what happened from other perspectives, leaving the big battle to resume around volume 13, I think. I just worked out it was only six weeks ago that I started this. No wonder I'm losing sleep!

Went away this week and the 3 hour bus rides helped me..

Reincarnated as the Mastermind of the Story v1: started out fairly average but developed into a nail biting action/intrigue with some big battles and mysteries towards the end. Looking forward to continuing this.

Combat Baker and the Automaton Waitress v2-v4: decided to continue this story. Some parts are a bit dark for my taste but it is an excellent story. Holding off on the big two volume finale as I can see it's gonna get even darker and more bloody. So I decided to have a look at....

Ascendance of a Bookwork: Hannelore's Fifth Year v1, which could be subtitled All The Boys Want to Marry Hannelore! Can this still be considered an isekai, if Rosemyne is hardly present? Poor Hannelore is being assailed by all the single boys. When's a girl supposed to find time to read, eh?
 
Ascendance of a Bookwork: Hannelore's Fifth Year v1-v2: Well, I wasn't wrong about all the boys wanting to marry Hannelore, but I wasn't expecting the Gods to interfere OR for quite so much politicking. It all seems to be getting ridiculously out of hand and I think Hannelore should just run away and live on an island somewhere (sadly, not an option in this world).
 
Isekai Tensei v1-v5: standard isekai fare, with the gods taking pity on a young man who died a sad death, reincarnating him into a world of magic and monsters with ridiculous cheat powers. He's currently got about a dozen girls after him and the queen is trying to marry him off to half the aristocracy. I'm not sure he's hit puberty yet. It's been OK so far, nothing special but moderately entertaining. I'm having a rest after the big martial arts tournament.
 
The Alchemist Who Survived Now Dreams of a Quiet City Life v1-v2: Surprisingly good and well detailed. The story concerns a teenage alchemist, who was force-fed knowledge by her teacher (who then mysteriously disappeared). She used a suspended animation cell to hide in her cellar from a monster stampede but an error means she isn't woken up for 200 years. The world she emerges in has lost all of the skills she has been trained in (lucky, eh?), and she is now becoming a valued member of the walled town located next to a monster dungeon. Lots of action and amusing tales mixed in with the detailed alchemical description and big monster battles. It reminds me a little of Ascendance of a Bookworm in its world-building. Not an isekai and the main characters are at least in their mid-teens, so it's a nice change.
 
The Alchemist Who Survived Now Dreams of a Quiet City Life v3-v5: Action packed as the adventurers and associates try to clear the dungeon before disaster strikes the town. All nicely wrapped up by the end of volume 5, so I wonder why volume 6 exists. Only one way to find out...
 
The Alchemist Who Survived Now Dreams of a Quiet City Life v6: this was a much slower and more complex story with mysteries abounding. Good way of developing the plot through dreams and I was getting a little Alice in Wonderland vibe for the world Mariela and her friends were stuck in. Really enjoyable series wrapped up nicely at the end.

The Death of the Skeleton Swordsman: Dominating as a Cursed Saint v1-v2: Interesting take on the zombie curse, as our hero spends 300 years as a skeleton and then has his flesh restored by a Holy Girl, so that he can fight other undead at her side. He's a bit too much in love with the ladies, despite the author trying so play up his decent side, but the story is interesting and there's some good action. I suppose if I'm honest, after 300 years without flesh, I'd probably be a bit excited too.

The Sorcerer’s Receptionist v1: entertaining tale of a girl determined to pursue her career goals, while being pestered by one annoying boy. Bit obvious on the romance side (I say that, but our protagonist hasn't noticed yet), but it gives one an appreciation of the work the people behind the counter put in.
