UK Anime Distributor MVM Entertainment Discussion Thread

I ended up importing the Sentai LE a while back.
The description for this set (hardcover book, novel and art cards) seems to be almost identical, aside from the shadow-box scene kit (and presumably the big outer box plus ribbon). The web description misses out ep.0, but zoom in on the image and it’s listed.

I’m happy with the big metallic square version as I’ve already got the preceding releases (same shape) but I do wish they actually made use of the space instead of just boxing it off empty.
I’ll probably still get the MVM release if I see it a bit cheaper, but this was a pretty long time coming and after the ā€˜standard’ releases too.

Yes, unfortunately Sentai had always released standard editions first, THEN a CE months after which never made sense. Luckily for the most part with licenses we've managed to do the CE first, but Dungeon S4 and Made in Abyss S2 were rare occurrences of having to release the standard first.

Luckily they're releasing Dungeon S5 CE and standard at the same time later this year.

The Dungeon S4 part 2 (standard) doesn’t appear to be on the anime-on-line website? But part 1 is.
I assume(d) that being a ā€œstandardā€ would get reprinted as needed, and would indirectly benefit from the ā€œhalo effectā€ of the CE release - perhaps there’s a nefarious plan to release a combined standard edition.

Might give this a try, I could swear I had it on my Amazon Wish List but it's not on there (currently checking back to see if I've purchased it from CEX, as I can't find any email confirmations as my admin is terrible)
I've ordered it. I watched the show as it aired and quite enjoyed it. It's mostly a light-hearted gag comedy about a group of slightly annoying kids getting into antics. I'd liken it to something like Mitsuboshi Colors, or to use a slightly less obscure example, a more relaxed Asobe Asobasi. Or maybe something like Kirio Fanclub for those keeping up with this season.

Part 2 is deleted. We'll most likely be doing a complete standard set at some point.

Worth giving it a try?

Or is it quite violent (hence being a 18)?
Very edgy especially the first episode IIRC. It's a dark magical girl show where each girl gets powers after thinking about killing themselves! Then they have to fight other magical girls with their new powers.

My mini review from 8! years ago:
Overall it started out trying to be the edgiest thing since edges were invented, but as the fairly intriguing plot came more to the fore and the characters grew a little the edges got rounded off a little to the point where the shock moments moved you rather than laugh at just how hard they were trying to shock you. Wouldn't say no to a second season.
8/10
Never did get that second season, but I have the manga on Bookwalker. Maybe time to read it!

I've read the review, thanks Sarah.
Looked at the episode forums on myanimelist.

I don't have an issue with the themes.
I suppose I watch TV to enjoy myself and see a happy ending.
I'll stick with Novice Alchemists and girls in tanks.

It'll come back around as DOTW.
