Apothecary Diaries s2 (dub) eps 16-24 (complete)
Another excellent season. Only quibble was trying to keep up with all the names and family trees involved in the plot of the second half. This is mostly my own problem because it's been nearly 2 years since I watched season 1 and the plot involved re-introduced characters from back then.
Art and animation was the same.
9/10

Not too long before s3 (Autumn), but it seems like they're going to split it into 2 parts (2nd part next Spring) with a side story film in there too.

Kunon the Sorcerer Can See Episode 13 Test. (Complete. Though this wasn't anything special it was still a fine watch.) 3/5

Noble Reincarnation: Born Blessed, So I’ll Obtain Ultimate Power
Episode 12 C
oup d'état. (Complete. Standard fantasy reincarnation anime with it's typical OP protagonist that made for a worthwhile watch.) 3.5/5

You and I Are Polar Opposites Episode 11

You and I Are Polar Opposites episode 11 Classmate.

HappinessCharge PreCure! episodes 22-36

episodes 37-39, 41-47

My Hero Academia Vigilantes Season 2 Episode 25

Tis Time for "Torture," Princess Season 2 Episode 23

Wash It All Away Episode 12 (Complete. An easygoing SoL anime that follows the charismatic Kinme and her "Service with a smile" dedication to her business.) 3/5

You Can't Be In a Rom-Com with Your Childhood Friends!
Episode 12 (Complete. For me this has been one of the worst rom-coms I've seen which is a shame as it could have been potentially much better.) 1/5

Urusei Yatsura (1981) - Episodes 1 & 2

I've seen the first handful of UY episodes before a loooong time ago on a VHS fansub and was big fan right from the outset. I missed out on the AnimEigo DVDs back in the day so I was super excited when Discotek released the TV series on Blu-ray. I'm going to watch it in batches to avoid burning out on it. Watching these first couple of episodes, the tone and aesthetic give me that warm feeling of why I like anime.

Yoroi Shin Den Samurai Troopers - Episodes 3 - 11

I'm enjoying this, it's quite amusing and has decent action in it, I like the continuity to the original series plus I'm actually quite taken with the way it looks too.

Something that struck me watching these episodes, is that a lot of shows like this and Kaiju No. 8 for example, action sci-fi type anime, that I have watched in the last few years feel like they now have very particular style, setup, tone... I can't quite put my finger on it but they all definitely feel very similar and it definitely feels like a 2020's sort of thing.

Steel Ball Run ONA1

Mad to think we’ve actually got this now, it feels like the Jojo fans have been clamouring for it for years!

With Stone Ocean, I accidentally spoiled myself on the ending and rather lost interest in it as a result (Netflix’s release schedule didn’t help either), so I’ve purposely avoided reading anything about SBR as much as possible. Going into it blind, I didn’t think either of the two leads were immediately likeable, which certainly gives it a different feel from previous instalments, but it does recapture some of the Bizarre Adventure ethos that I found a bit lacking in parts 5 and 6. David Pro are clearly taking great pains over the production too; there’s no going-for-broke sakuga (at least not yet), but everything feels absolutely just so - I haven’t read the manga, but I imagine this is exactly what it looks like in your head while reading it.

Yoroi-Shinden Samurai Troopers episode 12 Magnificent. (Complete. An entertaining successor series that will see a second part emerge hopefully sooner than later.) 3.5/5

HappinessCharge PreCure!
episodes 48-49, HappinessCharge PreCure! the Movie: The Ballerina of the Land of Dolls (Film) (Complete. Technically this anime is alphabetically out of order in my backlog as this takes place before Go! which is next up. With that aside out of the Precure titles I’ve seen so far this was arguably one of the weakest.) 2.5/5, 2.5/5

Go! Princess Precure
episodes 1-2

Shiboyugi episodes 6-11
Maybe one of the easiest anime of the season picks I've ever decided on. Along with being just a generally great death game series for the yuri sickos it's elevated by Sota Ueno and his team's approach to the adaptation. The art direction, backgrounds, music and sound design is so damn great at developing an distant and uncanny atmosphere, perfect for this deranged world. Was also great to hear that Ueno took quite a few liberties with source material. Really conflicted over whether I want this team to do a second season or an original project. Either way Sota Ueno is a director I'll be keeping an eye on.
