UK Anime Distributor Anime Limited Discussion Thread

This was 8 days ago. What's the situation now? I've specifically made an account on this forum because the website/email communication has been so abysmal/non-existent. Anime Ltd's reputation is irredeemably in the mud for me.
I’m in the exact same position, I’m a very long time lurker who has finally felt compelled to register here to say just how disappointed I am at how the Perfect Blue situation has panned out. I preordered it the day it went live, but because my order also included Diebuster, which ended up being delayed, I had to wait…and wait….and wait.

The lack of any communication to folks who are still waiting for this title has been poor, almost as poor as the fact that enough copies weren’t initially set aside to fulfill preorders.

And now we’re reading new titles are being dispatched to people! That’s the icing on the cake. Getting copies of Perfect Blue to people who bought and paid for them in mid-October should be the number one priority.

I’ve been a long time fan of Anime Limited - bought their very first release day one and have spent probably thousands of pounds on hundreds of their releases over the years, but the way this has been handled has been rubbish.

As I've mentioned elsewhere, we're currently waiting on other parties to process the returned stock, so beyond chasing them (which I'm doing regularly), there's nothing I can do to speed things up at this juncture. Delaying orders of other products for other people would achieve nothing.

Again, we're incredibly sorry about how this one has panned out, and we're determined to get it resolved, but the idea that we've somehow parked this issue to deal with other products simply isn't correct at all.

Curious if we might see AL exhibit at MegaCon. Haven't attended myself but it's run by the previous MCM owners now their non-competion clause is up. Seems to be getting better feedback too.

It's definitely something we're looking into (at the very least for attendance and panels) - we love what MegaCon are doing, so it's really more about scheduling and availability on our side (and an event aligning at a time when we have some big things we want to promote there).

So, in short - possibility! But in the meantime our MCM London May plans are very much underway.

Memes aside, do you people have any hopes and wishes for the March Newswire? What titles would you like to see getting announced? Most of the titles I would like are in a purgatory with Crunchyroll (Sound! Euphonium seasons 2 and 3, Laid Back Camp seasons 1-3 + movie, Uma Musume seasons 1-3, MyGO, Ave Mujica) but March Comes in like a Lion season 2 would be sweet. Same with The Rose of Versailles and Dear Brother/Oniisama e but Anime Limited sadly will never license those. (I know Anime Limited's French branch released The Rose of Versailles few years ago but it doesn't include English subtitles and my French skills are bit rusty nowadays...)

Also it annoys me to no end that CR has the license for Mobile Suit Gundam: Witch From the Mercury cause their bare-bones steelbook release for it was so bland. AL would have given it the beautiful Collector's Edition it deserves. I do have the CR's release of G-Witch but it arrived with one of the discs on loose and a scratch on it.

I think we'll get a Hosada movie (probably The Girl Who Leapt Through Time), Galaxy Express 999, Angels Egg CE (no Standard initially), the next Naruto/Bleach (I have no idea how many of these are to go), Her Blue Sky and finally Macros Plus Movie Edition

Shippuden Volume 3 is opening for orders tomorrow:
Naruto/Bleach (I have no idea how many of these are to go)

There's going to be 13 Bleach volumes total, so we have 4 to go with 1 more Collector Box to be released with volume 10 (going by the blog info). I suspect part 3 of Thousand Year Blood War will be coming soon too.

For Shippuden we're getting 4 Collector Boxes and 20 volumes in total. So a long way to go still!
