Vlad Love episodes 8-12 [End]
What a delightful trip this was. Yet another one of those series that sites like MAL were unnecessarily harsh on. It's a slapstick vehicle for Mamoru Oshii to nerd out about military history and European cinema dressed up in the guise of a yuri vampire series. The animation is pretty loose and lively, working well with the slapstick nature of the show while also having really great character designs and art direction in general (much like Studio Drive's later work on Teppen albeit with a different team). Definitely a series where you need to get on Oshii's wavelength to fully appreciate but it's these kinds of approaches that make me love anime originals.

Pokemon Concierge (Part 2) (English) - Episode 5 - 8 (Complete)

My first completed anime of 2026 already but this was only a short one. PKMN Concierge continues to be an incredibley cute and charming series with its fantastic stop-motion animation and relaxing vibe. I really hope we get more in the future.

Finally got around to making an english subbed bluray version of Galaxy Angel Rune and started watching it. What a let down, the show is inferior to every other Galaxy Angel series (I have all the GA dvds Bandai released in the us). I can see why it bombed so hard.

Carried by the Wind: Tsukikage Ran episodes 4-13 (Complete. A samurai adventure with some comedic elements which made for a decent enough viewing experience.) 3/5

Chain Chronicle: The Light of Haecceitas
episodes 1-12 (Complete. An action fantasy outing which was worth a watch but wasn’t one of the stronger fantasy anime I’ve seen.) 3/5
I have the dvd set of Tsukikage Ran and laugh evey time I've watched it, it's a pretty funny show.

Super Beast Machine God Dancouga: Blazing Epilogue - Episodes 1 - 4 [Final]

A re-watch ahead of a review on the mecha podcast.

Iria - Zeiram The Animation - Episodes 1 - 6 [Final]

This is such a good OVA!!! I've seen Iria a few times before but the last time I watched it was years and years ago and I watched Discotek's fantastic Blu-ray release in one go the other morning and I had such a blast with it, and is actually maybe even better than I remember it being. Great story, action and characters and Discotek's HD release looks absolutely gorgeous to boot.

Lupin III - The Mystery of Mamo

The Lupin films and specials are something I feel I have generally been neglecting for years so I'm starting to watch a few more of them now. I thought this one got off to a bit of a slow start but turned into a wonderfully edgy look at 70's attitudes and Cold War paranoia and I was both fascinated and entertained by it in equal measures.

Super Power Robo Galatt - Episodes 2 - 4

Very, very silly but an easy fun watch after a lot of the more serious stuff I've watched recently.

Detective Conan episode 1187 Anniversary.

Cheeky Angel episodes 49-52 & Specials (Complete. An interesting premise given a fun execution - another potentially overlooked title that was worth checking out.) 3.5/5

Cinderella Boy
episodes 1-13 (Complete. Despite being a story from Lupin the 3rd creator Monkey Punch, this was unfortunately nothing too special despite a decent body-changing premise.) 3/5

Coppelion
episodes 1-7
