My 2 x TV mystery boxes arrived today, earlier than expected, and just in time for Christmas, which was just as well as I plan to gift several items from them to family members...
They were sent via DHL yesterday and arrived this morning, despite them initially informing me to expect delivery on the 29th.
No sign of my BOGOF orders yet, but I'm not bothered about those arriving before Christmas anyway.

I've only received some AL pre-orders this month (perfect blue and devilman crybaby, but not dangers in my heart) with my outstanding Christmas sale orders being 8 items on 5/12 and 4 on 11/12 with there being a difference of 1776 between the order numbers.
Edit: didn't order from AoL this Christmas but then their fantastic deal-of-the-week items are like a weekly Christmas sale anyway.

I don't care when it gets shipped. I'm just scared of getting an email after weeks of waiting for it to ship saying that one or more items are out of stock and not included due to an error. AlltheAnime hasn't done that to me yet but other companies have.

My brother really loved the presents! he didn't mind there's a small dent on the Eizoken BD, but did tell him if he ever needs it sorted to let me know sooner than later, but should be good! I'm just happy that and Devilman Crybaby arrived in time

Does anyone know if AL allow you to cancel individual items from a BOGOF order, or is it only possible to cancel the whole order? I know it will be a couple of weeks until they start looking at emails again, but I noticed that there's just one item on my order that's out of stock.

I believe they can't amend orders once they are placed - aside from the delivery address. So you'd have to cancel the whole order and then re-order.
Although, as long as you placed the order while the item was in stock, you should be good. Or is it a case of no longer wanting the item?

I've been able to cancel one title from my AtA orders a couple of times - just not able to add a title. I recently canceled the UK Perfect Blue 4K CE from my AL pre-order of 5 CE titles, because the US Region A version came down in price enough for me to buy my own region's version instead, and because the Diebuster CE is holding up the remaining in-stock items from shipping. The only issue I could think of with canceling one title from a BOGOF order would be if it is considered one of the "Free items", so they might not deduct any money from your order if they are canceling a free item... not sure how they would handle that. But no harm in requesting it.

I also refrained from any festive purchases this year, but it's more because I've just moved to France and had to cull half my collection to reduce the moving costs (after making digital copies of course). Plus I also have a big backlog to plough through before I can consider buying new stuff.

If they do that that would very strange way of handling inventory imo. I don't think the OOS item on the shop is holding up the order necessarily since it was in stock when you checked out, could just be they're still chugging through the backlog. None of my orders have shipped even my 2nd day order which was the Blood C Ult so I imagine I would be higher in the line but im also intl soo
Inventory is in stock if in stock at time of checkout generally *unless there's a specific note that it's a reprint/BO where they explicitly mention it'll hold back the order and when the expected reprint is expected.
Now if there's a counting goof well it is what it is, but I would hope they'd email you about your delay, but wouldn't be shocked if it's done silently. Generally speaking each stock past the exception formerly outlined should = stock ready to go in the warehouse.
Other reasons it might not be shipping could be if you unknowingly purchased any of the marked BO items. Ik one of the gundams "restocked" through a BO in this way, probably others but I wasn't keeping up with it
I suppose if you're going to message them anyways you might ask if it being OOS is the reason it's being held back and if you were put on a BO list and cancel then. Otherwise canceling the item probably won't do much in expediting processing

I seem to recall that kind of thing happening years ago, but don't know if it's still the case. AL have changed both their storefront software and fulfilment centre since then.
Stock is allocated upon order, so if you were able to order whilest in stock you should(!) be fine...

I got hit by an inventory goof earlier on Idea factory for some games which just sucksss they're gone gone. Especially because oftentimes fufillment isn't done FCFS so even if you bought days before the other person if the algorithm prioritizes their order over yours for whatever reason (location or size of order etc) you might just be SOL ayee
