UK Anime Christmas Sales for 2025 [Anime Ltd's 12 Days of Xmas + More]

The AL Christmas sale usually delivers drama, if not much else.

Tried my best, like. Not sure what else you want: Hanners unlike Andrew ignores meeee.

I had @FathersBane - clearly a young, sensitive soul, yet to be tainted black by Anime Limited - ready to debate if AL/I corporate-soulless, and FMA equivalent exchange. Then @Just Passing Through appeared with a Gremlin reference to kill the mood. Blame him.

------

In all seriousness, God has abandoned us all, and I am much like Kratos with his son: disappointed, not angry. It had been my hope AL were over such clusterducks. Alas, this is the worst it ever been. Don't know if it because of Embracer, staff cutbacks, trying to sell everything at once to maximise profits, all of the above--regardless, last xmas sale partaking in. No confidence.

Unless a store exclusive, going with AoL/MVM. And no more stock clearance value. Not Hanners fault but they're hopeless.

I'm somewhere between depression and acceptance at this point. The AL Christmas sale usually delivers drama, if not much else.
Of course it would turn out to be pretty much a cluster-beep. It’s never once gone smoothly, has it?

I was rather hoping that at least someone would have had the mystery boxes delivered (or at least shipped) by now, If they were bought as a gift, that would allow for giving people a list on the day…

You wouldn’t think an anime company would literally be run like y’know; a company in an anime. But somehow that’s where we are, and it’s actually expected.

Sadly both of my orders have mystery boxes, clearance box on the 2nd and both TV mystery boxes on the 11th.
I have a vague clue what is in all three, from looking through the product pages during the sale.

But really isn't that part of the fun though the anticipation of finding out what is in the boxes? Im in same boat as I got two and really don't mind not knowing what they are until I actually get them in hand. Though to be fair I am happy waiting for my haul to arrive as I have other titles to churn through in the interim.

A lot of the times I don't mind waiting, but next year the import taxes in the Netherlands will be raised again and I hoped to avoid them. Oh well.. This was the same with the Brexit. Still worth(ish) it for me, but I preferred not to pay them.

Maybe ATA and the like should move their distribution to the north of Ireland as it's part of the UK territorial governance but still in the EU for goods

I think a great first step would be, if they finally implemented the IOSS system for the EU customers.
With that a lot of hurdles for orders until 150 EUR would vanish, as everything regarding VAT would be taken care of and we wouldn’t need to pay extra fees to the delivery companies for handling this topic.
However they either don't have the necessary staff to handle this or they just don't care (they are the only online shop I regularly use that has not implemented the IOSS system and it leads to me ordering only in exceptional cases like the Christmas sale from them).

Ordered 2 of the mystery boxes from AL on the 3rd. Still no shipping. I know that they have said that they're super busy, but it's still a really poor service. They really need to sort out the shipping problems. It's not hard to have a bunch of boxing ready to go before they even start the sale. Then all they'd have to do is print a shipping label as orders come in and get them straight out of the door. Luckily I bought the orders for myself so can wait till after Christmas but some people will have bought them as giifts for others, and that really sucks.

T'would indeed appear, 17 days later, they're shipping orders placed on the 2nd I can confirm; zappi/Titan. Some good news.

My Bleach BOGOFF x4 order remains unsent, but my other order placed later that day for x2 £4.99 box sets, just for the hell of it, has been dispatched.

A two weeks order backlog, in 4 days. 💦 Wonder how many will arrive; esp if RM48.
I've made peace with my big order on the 13th arriving post-xmas due to Diebuster. Not that it had a chance regardless as most big orders would've been on the 12th/13th.

Unfortunatly this years shipping standards for AllTheAnime looks to have gone backward, most poeple who done this sale before are aware there are likley delays. it kinda feels like we've gone backwards and gone back to the shipping disaster that was the 2019 Christmas Sale (I think it was the 2019, feel free to correct me for which year it was).
whether that due to prioritising Pre-orders or international orders (I have no idea if they are priortizing international order as it was only girls with guns that got there order and the cynic in me kinda wonders "if we ship out the order now we don't have to cancel the order")
The Pre-order prioritising I understand they want them out and done, but I would assume the amount of people ordering pre-orders as a christmas present (especially with AllTheAnime track record of delays to pre-orders) is much lower than the amount of people ordering presents from the christmas sale. Honestly I would just put it down to a poor schedualing choice of don't put pre-orders around a christmas sale.

But yeah, we are all unfortunatly going to have to be patient this year

Exclusive offer of Free shipping if you choose to take a copy of Ex-Arm and if you reach the free shipping threshold free copy of Ex-Arm 😂
Tbf 2019 Christmas sale was when they did both 12 Days of Christmas AND the Funimation clearance sale I think? Which was when we (I) was dealing with shipping everything out, on top of our own sales. It would have made more sense and much easier to have had the Funi sale start in the new year but hey ho...

I imagine though their main audience is UK/ROI folks + EU. I think consolidated shipping would benefit those intl folks the most tbh, the UK/Ireland postage is 3.50 which isn't terrible esp for the flash deals i find it worth if they already didnt hit the FS threshold. Do they charge EU the same 25 pound flat rate too? I can see though that they might not expect many US buyers for example so for me I definitely got my moneys worth of the 25 pound shipping ahaha
EU shipping is only 15 pound, but the carriers add their own customs handling fees on top on delivery, so even if there won't be a freeship (or discounted shipping) for additional orders combined shipping might help.

Yes it was - and you were great, and at least as far I remember most folks were patient.

But also this was transparent for customers as they clearly stated that the Funi Clearance items won't ship before Jan 2020 - so anyone was able to decide if he wants his order delayed or wants to split orders.

Just got an email Dispatch from AnimeLimited for Day one stuff of my 15% off big order (Order time was 1:17 am)

And its coming via DHL (so not FedEx like previous years, or maybe they've already switch to DHL in previous sales)

This has the mystery bundle too.
Hopefully that means they've switched from UPS to DHL for large non UK orders as €24 for customs clearance is robbery.
