The Anime/Manga I Bought Today Was...

Well, I'm batting 1000 with my orders from Holiday Sales shipping out in less than 24 hours. First, my AtA order of 8 CE sets shipped 16 hours after I placed the order late at night on the first day of the sale. Then, I ordered five standard Blu-rays from the Crunchyroll "25% off day" yesterday, and I received notice this morning they shipped out just 14 hours later. I picked up these five titles:

Black Butler -Public School Arc- Season 4
Shadow's House Season 1 Blu-ray
Shadow's House Season 2 Blu-ray
The Most Notorious Talker Runs the World's Greatest Clan (Sub Only)
No Longer Allowed in Another World - Season 1 - Blu-ray

The first three are Crunchyroll-released Aniplex titles - who would've thunk you could ever buy Aniplex titles for just $35 each?! 🤗

I just finished watching the first season of Shadow's House on Crunchyroll for the first time, and am really into it so far. Loves me some good, dark anime - literally, in this case!

'Tis said a picture is worth a thousand words. HOWEVER, a picture (with words inc) + perhaps less than 1000 words is more alluring to me, personally~

Added Seraph + Scummy Wishes/Princess after my PayPal checkout attempt(s) borked. Seraph like Arslan AL stock overload but £9.99 worth a retry, if only for Sawano+Studio Wit knocking off AoT Eren/Armin. Scummy is my kind of artsy-pervy despair porn. Princess has an okish budget and is not an isekai.

Lonely Castle directed by the guy that did Colorful. 'Twas one of few anime movies in last few decades worth a toss, that isn't a Shinkai romance thing/Your Name.

Call of the Night's trailer highlights it's attractive looking, with nice/sexy chara designs. Forgot had seen it but mein friend showed it me again, and that the art wraps around the spine on the box (fark off, AL white spine fetish). Reason enuff for me.

Diebuster back in day rated 4/10, vs the original's 8/10. Had nothing in common with it, and think was more a precursor to TTGL. But heyhoe: own first CE, has wrap around art on the box. Will give it a shot(a) anew. Maybelline.

And that leaves DAN: own the import standard edition. Enjoyed the series enough to rebuy. I hope/pray the discs aren't the same as the Shout ones, cause the bookmark checkpoints are terribad. Like, I skip opening as one would after seeing it 6+ times, and skip 5+ min after the OP; meaning I inadvertently skipped the whole tragic mom/daughter flashback in ep7. My thoughts were, 'Wow, that must've been good as ep ended fast!'

A disappointing AL innings as only rly ended up ordering day 1 Bleach BOGOFFs, and early bird reduxs day 12/13. No flashers. That's me lot.

And, I ordered 1 more title during the Sale from the 30% Off Great Gifts portion of the Crunchyroll Sale today:

Had something sell on eBay. Thus, had e-monies~

Been since looked what anime 'all ur music' sellin' in awhile (pain to find anything on their page as can't select genre, tho cookie voyeuring apprantly had this trio popup~). They oft have '20% off 3 items' promos, and more importantly no shipping charges from the US.
Sentai always a tad pricey, given not CEs/not always dubs. But this trio kindasorta wanted:

  • Za Warudo Gawd Knos went oop, and was reprinted this year. Started watching when first aired. Don't think finished S2. Have been watching NHK lately, and it occurred to me Yamazaki would be similar to its protagonist, if he were able to transfer VN skillz to irl. Alas...
  • Azumanga: CeX pissed me off greatly by both damaging and refusing accept the DVD CE, ages ago. It was pretty decent/funny, if memory serves, as own its manga all-in-oner.
  • Soul Eater is 2000s era Bones, with Taku Iwasaki TTGL/Jojo etc music. If it not a low res upscale, could be worth a revisit as it more inline silly/actionpacked modern shounen. I probably won't, ofc.
Think I just buy for the sake of buying, these days, as many older fans tend to.

'Tis the last anime for meeeeee this year, and until Gungrave/Suba S3.
